Three years young, I’ve been a Lake Merritt dog for a year and a half now. Before that, I was roaming the streets of Coalinga until the SPCA took me in and fixed me up good.

Now you might spot me trotting alongside Laura, Leo, and baby Benicio, because I’m a true pack dog at heart who never lets anyone fall behind. Fetch isn’t really my thing, but I’m basically a champion sunbather, and I’ll roll right over for a good belly rub. I’ve made plenty of friends that way, especially at the cafes where they know me as the kangaroo-standing big chihuahua who loves their doggy biscuits.

When I first joined my family, I kept slipping out of my harness, which earned me the nickname Houdini. Not quite Basenji, not quite Shiba Inu. Just me, a 20-pound little big guy with a sweet heart and an old soul.
