Butte Humane Society

🚨 GAME ON FOR SHELTER PETS! 🚨

Today marks the official kick-off of the Butte Humane Society Battle of the Businesses! 🏆🐾 From now through Friday, October 9th, three local businesses, Golden Valley Bank Royal Aire 👑 and M&I are going head-to-head in a friendly competition to raise funds and collect critical supplies for our shelter animals.

While the winning business walks away with ultimate bragging rights, at the end of the day, our shelter pets are the real winners! 🐕🐈 Every single item and dollar raised directly provides lifesaving medical care, warm beds, and nutritious food for animals waiting for their forever homes.

Here is how YOU can help your favorite local business win while saving lives:

1️⃣ Donate Physical Supplies: Pick up items from our BHS Wishlist (think dog food, cat litter, toys, and cleaning supplies) and drop them off directly at the participating business of your choice! 📦

2️⃣ Donate Funds: Support your favorite business’s team page online or drop off monetary donations at their location! 💳

Partnerships like this mean the world to our shelter—we truly couldn’t do this work without the incredible businesses and people in our community backing us!

Who are you rooting for? Drop off your donations by Friday, Oct 9th to help push your favorite team to victory! 🏆✨

Paula has officially been ADOPTED! 🎉

This darling 1-year-old Terrier/Schnauzer mix with the adorable grey, black, and white coat may have been shy at first, but with a little time and patience, her sweet, loving personality shone through. Paula is happiest when she’s close to her people and soaking up affection from someone she trusts, and now she has a family to give her all the love she deserves.

Watching her confidence grow during her time with us was incredibly rewarding. Paula, we’re so proud of you, and we can’t wait to hear about all your adventures! 🥹

Thank you to everyone who shared her, cheered her on, and helped her find her forever home. Congratulations to Paula and her new family! 🏡

Raise your hand (or paw! 🐾) if you love pets! ✋🐶🐱

We are thrilled to partner with Subaru of Chico this month for the initiative! 🚗💨 Every pet deserves a loving home, and thanks to direct grant funding provided by Subaru of Chico and administered by the ASPCA®, we’re able to cover essential veterinary expenses and prepare even more shelter animals for adoption.

Plus, October 22nd marks the 8th annual National Make A Dog’s Day! What better way to celebrate than by adopting, fostering, or giving a deserving pet their best day ever? 🧡🐕

Wishlist Wednesday: Meet Nova! 🐾 SHE WAS ADOPTED TODAY 🎉🎉🎉

Nova is a gorgeous 2-year-old Kelpie/Pitbull mix (we think!) with a beautiful black-and-brown coat that’s unbelievably soft. She’s a stunner, but her beauty is only part of what makes her special. This sweet girl lives to please! She loves being around her people and is always eager to make them happy. She’s also very food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. Whether she’s learning a new trick or practicing her manners, Nova is ready to work for those tasty treats!

We are thrilled for her next chapter. Nova’s adoption fee was fully covered by the ASPCA, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their commitment to providing second chances to animals in need. Thank you, ASPCA! 🙏

You can help animals just like Nova enjoy a comfortable stay at our shelter while they wait for their forever homes by donating items from our wishlist!

FEATURED FUR-IDAY: Meet Aztec! 🐾

This handsome guy is ready to steal hearts! Aztec is a 10-month-old Shepherd mix with a gorgeous tri-colored coat and an even more gorgeous personality to match.

Aztec is all puppy, playful, curious, and always up for the next adventure. He’s looking for an active family who can match his energy with walks, training, and plenty of enrichment to keep that busy brain and growing body happy. He’d thrive in a home with older kids who can play with him while giving him space to be himself.

His new family should be ready to keep up the training and help him grow into the amazing adult dog he’s destined to be.

Could you be Aztec’s person? 🐶❤️ His adoption fee is generously sponsored by the ASPCA Rescue Effect Grant, so all that’s missing is YOU!

Come meet Aztec today!✨
