Fireweed Quilt Studio

The calendar says that summer is here in Alaska even though the temps do not seem to be getting any warmer. This summer I will again be showing my quilts at the Anchorage Museum. I am scheduled to be there showing quilts and talking to patrons on Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16.

This quilt is called Hugs and Kisses. Do you see the X's and O's? It is fast, easy, and fun to complete. The flowers in the border remind me of Hawaiian Plumeria's.

Love theses colors. This is a disappearing nine patch turned Secret Jungle. So much fun to work with this fabric. Sure does wake up the darkness of winter. Summer will be here soon.

I received confirmation of the dates I will be showing my quilts at the Anchorage Museum this summer. If you have not yet visited the Museum, the new expansion has turned out beautiful. So much to see including Alaskan Crafters and Authors every day from 15 June through 15 August. I will be there June 15 and 16, July 12 and 13, August 2, 3, and 11.

All Boxed In. This is a really great pattern, which is so simple that it is on a 4 x 6 index card. WOW!

This lap quilt was made from a collection of blocks from a block exchange. Just like so many of my other quilts this one was fun. All of the colors just seem to come together.

This was a Mystery quilt class that I held at the 2011 Bear Paw Festival for the Chugach Mountain Quilt Guild. The border has wonderful Dandilions batiked in the fabric.

This is an absolutely happy project that goes so quick. It is quilted with varigated Red, White and Blue thread which really makes it pop.

This small quilt was started about 10 years ago and finally finished. So for all of you have UFOs (Un-Finished Objects), pull them out and get to work on them. Your could end up with something to enjoy.

Dragon Flies, they are just wonderful. This is a fusible applique quilt. People ask if this is difficult. Not really difficult, but very time consuming.
