Rip 4 legged hero K9 Midas.

Today, we join our community in mourning the loss of Anchorage Police Department K-9 Midas (K-15).

For years, it was our privilege to help care for Midas throughout his life. He was more than an extraordinary working dog — he was a loyal partner, a protector, and a hero who dedicated his life to keeping others safe. Being trusted with his care was an honor our team will never forget.

During his service, Midas was credited with more than five dozen criminal apprehensions. Even more remarkably, he twice saved the life of his handler, Officer Brandon Otts, by intervening during encounters with armed aggressors. He was also credited with saving the lives of multiple Anchorage Police Department officers through his courage, training, and unwavering commitment to his job.

Beyond his incredible accomplishments, we'll remember Midas for the dog he was every time he walked through our doors. He was always a welcome sight, and it was a privilege to know him.

Our hearts are with Officer Otts, the Anchorage Police Department, and everyone whose life was touched by Midas. Thank you, Midas, for your years of faithful service, your courage, and the sacrifices you made to help keep our communities safe.

Rest easy, K-15. Your watch is over. Thank you for your faithful service. 💙🐾

Two hundred and fifty years of independence, and we are grateful to spend this one with you. Thank you for your continued trust. Happy 4th of July from all of us at Moore_EFX and Last Frontier CMV
