What a night at the NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner! πŸ’™

I was honored to join neighbors, leaders, and families who gather every year to celebrate the work of making our community fairer and stronger for everyone. This year was especially πŸ”₯ with Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett as the speaker! 31 days….lets go, Ohio!!!!

🚨 Ohio Friends 🚨 Stop what you're doing and take two minutes to check your voter registration. πŸ—³οΈ

Monday, October 5 is the LAST day to register or correct your information. Moved? Changed your name? Not sure? Don't wait until Election Day to find out something's off.

Look yourself up here: https://voterlookup.ohiosos.gov/voterlookup.aspx

Then text a friend, a neighbor, or your mom and ask them to check too. We show up for each other in this community, and this is one more way to do it.

Imagine hopping on a train in Milford and being at the Cincinnati riverfront in no time, no traffic, no parking hassle. πŸš†

That's the idea behind Oasis Rail Transit, a proposed 17-mile commuter line connecting downtown Cincinnati to communities in eastern Hamilton County and western Clermont County. Much of it could run on existing publicly owned rail right-of-way.

Early studies found the project worth a closer look. Read more: https://easterncorridor.org/projects/oasis-rail-transit/oasis-rail-transit-project-overview/

I voted yes on the gas tax holiday today, because I'll always vote for some relief over none. But Ohioans deserve more than a headline. Watch me explain why the same $726 million could have done so much more for our families. πŸŽ₯πŸ‘‡

Tonight I sat in on the Woodlawn Village Council meeting, and it was one for the books.

The owners of The Wood Tavern came to speak to council. They told council about a fundraiser they held celebrating the owner's birthday, and they raised money for the village. I've been to a lot of council meetings, and I've never seen local businesses show up to surprise their village with support.

What a great culture, where neighbors truly take care of each other. Thank you to The Wood Tavern and everyone who gave. This is what community looks like. πŸ’›

What an honor to join as Xavier University celebrated its newest cohort of AmeriCorps volunteers! πŸ’™

These students made the commitment to give their time, talents, and energy to lift up others and strengthen our community. Choosing to serve is a powerful act of hope.

To all the students I met, thank you for answering the call to serve. We're proud of you and can't wait to see the good you'll do this year. 🌟

I'm honored to share that I've received the endorsement of Equality Cincinnati!

This means a lot to me. Every member of our community deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness, and that's something I'll keep fighting for. Thank you to Equality Cincinnati for this recognition, and thank you to everyone doing the work every day to make sure LGBTQ+ voices are heard and protected.

Grateful for this partnership and committed to continuing to be a strong ally as we move forward together. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Just opened my energy bill and about fell over … the highest I've ever paid. 😳 If your bill's been climbing too, you're not alone. Rising utility costs are hitting families across our community hard, and it's exactly why affordability has to stay front and center for every representative.

I'm honored to share that my campaign has been endorsed by both the Ohio Nurses Association and the Ohio State Medical Association.

As a nurse myself, this means so much. These are the people who show up every day at bedsides, in clinics, in emergency rooms doing the important work of caring for our neighbors. When nurses and physicians across our state come together to say "we trust this person to represent us," that's not just a political endorsement. It's a statement about the kind of leadership they believe Ohio needs.

I've spent my career in healthcare because I believe people deserve to be seen, heard, and cared for and I'll bring that same commitment to the work ahead. Thank you to both organizations for this trust. I won't take it lightly.
