We are proud to share that Peck Expeditionary Learning School has been recognized as a Learning by Design Grand Prize winner in the Early Childhood/Elementary School category!

As designers, it is so important that a project's ideas and vision translate to reality. Peck was designed around a connected approach to learning, bringing together classrooms, shared spaces, outdoor environments, and the broader community to create a school that feels like an ecosystem rather than a collection of rooms.

We’re grateful to our partners at Guilford County Schools and proud to see Peck receive this recognition!

The best ideas rarely come from one person sitting alone at a desk. They come from conversations, questions, unexpected perspectives, and a willingness to explore what’s possible.

This World Architecture Day, we’re celebrating the people behind the ideas.

Heading to the BASA Fall Conference next week in Columbus? If so, come hear Kings Local School District's Greg Sears and SHP's Charlie Jahnigen and Fil Anastasio share insights on the importance of strategic transparency and engagement in building community trust. See you there!

1988 Apple Interview. Like we said, building the curve.

If we've learned one thing in this series, it is that we have not only been ahead of the curve, we've built it.

And that means when an opportunity to innovate presents itself, we are right there, exploring the possibilities. That is exactly what we did with technology, and that is exactly what we continue to do today.

Decades of partnership. One beloved community library.

Sports are about more than the game. They’re about the places, people, and communities that make it all possible.

SHP was proud to bring that idea to life through the renovation of the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s headquarters. As an OHSAA sponsor and a firm with a studio dedicated to designing athletic environments, the project was a chance to create a workplace that feels unmistakably connected to Ohio sports.

What do you keep when you’re reimagining a school for the future?

For Lockland Local Schools, the answer was its history. Originally built in 1912, the K-12 school was thoughtfully renovated to preserve its historic character while creating flexible, modern learning environments for today’s students.

The result is a school that honors where Lockland has been while making room for where it’s going.
