AMS builds specialty equipment for plastic joining, precision fastening, leak testing and clip installation Automated Machine Systems, Inc.

(AMS) is located in Cincinnati, Ohio and was founded in 2000. Early projects involved a variety of general semi-automation systems. As AMS grew in sales, reputation, and success, expertise was accumulated within select application areas. In 2012, AMS sharpened its focus from general semi-automation to concentrate its efforts on the following core competencies:

Plastic joining systems
Air leak test stations
Precision fastening systems
Clip installation
Robotics

AMS is constantly striving to excel and maximize client satisfaction. We have a 24-hour hotline that can be accessed anytime for answers about design questions, the status of an order, tracking information or updates on any situation that might arise. We “Carry the ball 24/7” by being as responsive as possible to our client’s needs. We are very proud of our application knowledge and experience, internal organizational systems, and customer communications. A key part of this is our proprietary 17-Step Manufacturing Process that has been developed drawing on many years of experience and the knowledge honed from hundreds of successful projects. The Process controls the flow of a project from concept to prototyping through production launch and includes a six-month post production check-up. Click here to view the full 17-Step Process. Our continuous improvement efforts show in the results we are able to generate for our customers which are reflected by these two metrics:

95% on-time delivery
97% customer satisfaction

A fast production process only works when quality keeps pace.

AMS integrates testing and inspection directly into automated systems, including leak testing, vision inspection, force testing, measurement, and electrical testing.

Let’s talk about building quality control into your process at MD&M Midwest.

From 240 parts per hour to 1,200, with zero additional headcount.

AMS replaced a decades-old manual press with a custom PM-601 flexible screw press built to deliver:

• A 5x increase in production
• Automated force, distance, and vision inspection
• 100% process traceability
• Automatic removal of nonconforming parts
• Quick-change tooling for seven part sizes
• A safer, zero-hazard operating environment

Watch how we transformed a hazardous, labor-intensive operation into a faster, smarter, data-driven production system.

Precision in motion. ⚙️

Coordinated robotics. Purpose-built tooling. Every movement designed around the part and the process.

At AMS, we bring it all together to help manufacturers improve consistency, reduce manual handling, and keep production moving.

What’s the next process you’re ready to automate?

Great machines start with a great team!

AMS was honored to be recognized as a finalist in the 2026 Best Places to Work program. A group of our team members attended the celebration at TQL Stadium to accept the recognition and represent the people who make AMS what it is.

We’re proud of the culture we’ve built and even prouder of the team behind it.

Good automation doesn’t start on the shop floor. It starts with a solid process.

At AMS, our 17-step process gives every custom automation project a clear path from concept through design, build, testing, runoff, and delivery.

The goal is simple: keep expectations aligned, identify issues early, maintain communication throughout the project, and make sure the system is ready to perform before it reaches your floor.

Because when you’re investing in custom automation, the process used to build it matters just as much as the finished machine.

We recently held our quarterly meeting to review the results of what was a historic quarter for AMS.

Strong quarters do not happen by accident. They happen when customers trust you, come back, and keep coming back with new work. That kind of repeat business says a lot. It reflects the strength of the relationships we build, the performance of our team, and our commitment to delivering results.

We're grateful for the customers who continue to choose AMS and for the team that keeps earning that trust every day.

Here's to building on the momentum.

Just wrapped up genuinely inspired. Walking that show floor reminds you how much innovation is happening in robotics and industrial automation right now. The conversations I had this week reinforced something I already believe: the future of manufacturing is being built by people who show up, stay curious, and keep pushing.

Great show. Great people. Already looking forward to next year.

Vision Inspection System for Wearable Medical Devices- AMS Automated Machine Systems 06/19/2026

Every wearable drug-injector relies on one tiny, critical part: the needle. If it's bent, rough, or angled wrong, patients feel it.

A leading US medical device manufacturer asked AMS to build an inspection system that could catch 100% of defective needles, zero exceptions. Our team engineered a custom 3D vision inspection system that scans every needle in under 5 seconds, checking presence, straightness, bevel angle, and surface finish at resolutions as fine as 0.9 microns.

The payoff: 99.99% reliability, full FDA-compliant validation, and a client who trusted us with even more of their production line.
