🚓🚨 The Colerain Township Police Department is committed to improving roadway and community safety - and now the state is helping with some extra funding.

Two grants totaling $38,208.38 have been awarded (IDEP grant for $18,354.19 and a $19,854.19 STEP grant) to support enhanced traffic enforcement and initiatives aimed at reducing impaired driving and preventing serious crashes.

🎉This is the THIRD consecutive year the department has received both grants from the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO).

🐾 Who let the dogs out? We definitely did - that was us.

Last week, Houston Early Learning Center hosted the Colerain Township Police Department's K9 Unit to help teach students about the roles of dogs in law enforcement - and because they're such handsome doggos!

All five of our K9s have been donated thanks to the generosity of The Matt Haverkamp Foundation. Students got to meet K9 Chuck, K9 Tiko, and K9 Ghost - who was also the 100th dog donated by The Haverkamp Foundation! Thank you so much for having us out and helping us build positive relationships with some of our youngest residents!

Today, we pause to honor and remember all of the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We stand with the families, first responders, and all who continue to carry the weight of that day. May we never forget the courage, sacrifice, and unity that rose from the darkness.
