Dayton-area leaders are speaking up! Cutting SNAP and Medicaid will have real consequences for Ohio families. That's why we couldn't stay silent!

These programs help people put food on the table, afford health care, and keep their families healthy and secure. Taking those supports away puts more pressure on families, local governments, hospitals, food banks, and everyone else left to pick up the pieces.

We’re glad to see local leaders standing up and saying: our communities deserve better. Thank you Leaders for Equality and Action in Dayton - LEAD for standing this us!

Dayton, Montgomery County oppose federal changes risking Medicaid, SNAP access DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) - Commissioners with the City of Dayton and Montgomery County Commission are taking a public stand over concerns that federal policy change

When a community comes together, real change begins. This weekend, BWHI Dayton gathered for a day focused on health, healing, and empowerment.

Minister LaSonya Brown, a nutritionist, reminded us that self-care is the foundation for living healthy, showing up for our families, and sustaining the work of building stronger communities.

Neighbors connected with local resources at our community health fair while our voter engagement team registered new voters and helped 78 community members verify their voter information and polling locations.

We closed the day with an honest conversation about mental health, discussing the signs to look for, the importance of early support, and how we can better care for ourselves and each other. It was a reminder that healthy communities are built when people show up, learn together, and take action together.
