Ohio Equal Rights extends our condolences to Gloria Steinem’s family, friends, colleagues, and the generations of activists she inspired. We also extend our deepest condolences to Pierre’s family, friends, classmates, teammates, the Wright State University community, and Springfield’s Haitian community.

We honor both lives by recommitting ourselves to an Ohio—and a country—in which equality means more than surviving discrimination.

Partners might not do everything the same way but we agree on the big picture, and theoceqi has it spot-on: Ohioans’ voices need to be heard. In a gerrymandered state with unresponsive representatives, direct democracy is our outlet to shape a better future for our state.

Sometimes, we have to remember that there are things to be grateful for. Yesterday was the anniversary of the 19th Amendment's certification, which gave women the right to vote.

Ohio passed our reproductive rights amendment almost three years ago now.

The federal Equal Rights Amendment, the 28th, has been ratified and the latest Amicus Brief in the court case to force its certification has been filed. You can read about it here, and you might recognize some Ohio names on there!
