You want to know one of a billion reasons I love my parents. My parents have always taught me right and wrong and to stand up for social justice or corporate greed. So when Buc-ees, a place my parents had visited many times, decided to throw their corporate might at a small local business who has been in business for over 20 years in Beavercreek 🦫. My father threw on his Buc-ees shirt and he and my mother decided to drive to Beavers 🦫 Mini Mart and show them they support them! I am also happy to hear that they were definitely not the only ones doing it. Buc-ees you have messed up and you will learn that Dayton and indeed all of Ohio will stand behind our own. Go support them my Dayton friends! Thanks mom and dad for fighting the good fight. Love you guys! Buc-ee's

It never ceases to amaze me how many wonderfully beautiful wild spaces we have here in Ohio and Blue Creek Nature Preserve did not disappoint. Julie was completely right that it was worth the short drive from Columbus. Places like this needs protected and preserved for all generations to enjoy. It was an incredible time here in absolute perfect weather, but I’m not done crushing my step goals. I have put another nature preserve near me in my GPS and heading that way. Another post is sure to follow but in the meantime, get out there people and enjoy what Mother Nature has gifted us!
PS: that smile on top of the sled hill is not AI, it’s my gratitude face!

July 2nd is the most underrated date in American history. Here’s why 👇
1776 — The REAL independence vote
The Continental Congress formally voted for independence on July 2nd — not the 4th. John Adams predicted THIS day would be celebrated by future generations. He was wrong about the date. Right about everything else.
1863 — The hillside that saved the Union
On a boulder-strewn hill in southern Pennsylvania, Colonel Joshua Chamberlain and the 20th Maine Regiment launched a desperate downhill bayonet charge that repelled the Confederate assault on Little Round Top. If that hill falls, the Union’s entire left flank collapses — and the war may end very differently.
1964 — America tries to mean what it said President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act on July 2, 1964 — the most sweeping civil rights legislation since Reconstruction. It came 188 years after the Declaration promised “all men are created equal.” Better late than never. Not late enough. But a monumental step.
Three moments. One date. A vote, a charge, and a pen stroke that changed everything.
