What a morning at Goose Alley Urban Farm! Our Tea on the Farm event brought together board members, city officials, community partners, and our incredible Cornerstone members — all gathered in one of Over-the-Rhine's most special spaces. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the members who volunteered to make it such a memorable event. We are so grateful for this community!

We are excited to announce Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney as the Keynote Speaker for our 40th Anniversary Celebration Breakfast!

Jan-Michele was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is a proud graduate of Cincinnati Public Schools. She graduated from Dartmouth College, attended Talladega College – an HBCU, and then earned a masters degree and law degree at Harvard University.

She is president of Sesh Communications, a multi-media publishing company that publishes the award-winning The Cincinnati Herald newspaper and hosts events such as the annual Daddy-Daughter Dinner Dance and Nefertiti Awards to honor women.

In 2020, she was appointed to fill a vacant seat on Cincinnati City Council. She was elected in 2021 and again in 2023. Mayor Aftab Pureval appointed her Vice Mayor of Cincinnati for both terms. She is actively working with her colleagues to stop gun violence, increase economic opportunities for minority and women residents, create more affordable housing and homeownership, and establish an Office of Equity in City Hall. She is proud that she has led a culture change in City Hall to increase community engagement to empower the people of Cincinnati across neighborhoods so that policies are made “with” them and not just “for” them.

She is married to former State Senator and Ohio Minority Leader Eric H. Kearney, who is president of the African American Chamber of Commerce. They are blessed with two children, Celeste and Asher.

Opening Doorways for 40 Years is more than a theme. It's a reflection of what this organization has done, year after year, for renters and families in Over the Rhine. Forty years of stability. Forty years of financial empowerment. Forty years of neighbors investing in themselves and each other.

This breakfast celebration will be unlike anything we've done before. Join us for live music, a delicious breakfast, and the chance to connect with the community that makes this work possible

What a day at the Green Street Block Party! Over 200 neighbors came out to celebrate, and we were thrilled to send 125 kids back to school with fully stocked backpacks, chosen by the kids themselves. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and showed up to make it happen!
