A little behind the scenes from one of my favorite parts of a wedding day š¤
This was one of those moments where having both photography and videography happening together really matters.
I was focused on photographing the brideās entrance and all of the beautiful details around it, while Kris was right there capturing the moment on video from his own perspective.
Weāre both watching for the same things, but weāre not creating the same thing. Photography preserves the frame. Video preserves the movement, the sound, the reactions, and the feeling of actually being there.
And at a venue like The View, with that incredible chandelier overhead, there was no shortage of beauty to work with. āØ
Itās easy to think of photo and video as two separate vendors, but when they work well together, they become two ways of preserving the exact same day.
You get to remember what it looked like.
And then you get to hear it, watch it move, and experience it all over again, too. š¤

I love thinking of calligraphy as printed music. š¤
Thereās something about the rhythm of the letters, the movement of each stroke, and the way the words come together on the page.
It adds an elegance that never really feels trendy because, at its best, calligraphy is simply timeless.
Always graceful. Always intentional. Always classy.
A few favorite calligraphy moments lately.

Happy wedding day to Abby & Chris! We are SO excited to be capturing your beautiful day for you to cherish forever š¤ Wishing you a lifetime of love and adventure!
Your getting-ready room matters more than you might think. š¤
Not because it needs to be perfect, but because it becomes part of the story I'm documenting.
When I arrive, one of the first things I'm looking for is good natural light, space to move, and the best way to use the room to create beautiful, varied images. A pretty view, a little breathing room, and keeping some of the everyday clutter contained can make a big difference, too.
But here's the important part: you don't need to know how to make the room photograph well. That's my job.
I'll open the curtains, turn off the overhead lights when needed, move things around, find the best light, and figure out how to make the space work for us.
So when you're choosing a getting-ready space, look for good light, a little room to move, and somewhere to tuck away the things you don't want in photos.
The rest? I'll take care of. š¤

This is the kind of detail that makes me love OKOTA Collective. š¤
For this wedding cake, almost every little piece was created specifically for the celebration.
The cake charm started as raw clay that I sculpted by hand, fired in the kiln, glazed, and fired again to create the finished piece.
The cake stand was also made from scratch, including a custom glaze combination I developed to create that subtle metallic effect and tie it into the rest of the event design.
And the finishing touch? Hand-dyed silk ribbon, sourced specifically to complement the palette and texture of the day.
None of these pieces were pulled from a catalog. They were designed, made, tested, sourced, and finished specifically for this celebration.
Thatās one of my favorite things about OKOTA Collective. The possibilities can get very niche. If you can dream up the detail, we can often figure out how to make it exist.
From NOTE stationery and WILLOW florals to .events Studio O event artistry and the photography that preserves it all, OKOTA Collective gives me the opportunity to approach an event as a complete work of art rather than a collection of separate pieces.
And sometimes that means sculpting a cake charm, firing it twice, and developing a completely custom glaze because the cake stand needs to match. šš¤
Honestly, those are my favorite kinds of details.

The happiest when Iām behind the camera, doing what I love. š¤
Thereās something about a wedding day that still gets me every time ā the anticipation, the people, the little moments happening all around me, and getting to preserve it all for someone else to relive for years to come.
This is the part of my job I never want to take for granted.
So, hi. This is me... usually somewhere behind the camera, smiling way too big because I genuinely love what I get to do. š¤
First look or no first look? š¤
This is one of those wedding decisions where I don't think there needs to be a ārightā answer.
Some couples love the idea of having a quiet moment together before the ceremony. Others want to experience that first look walking down the aisle.
Both can be incredibly beautiful.
As your photographer, my job isn't to convince you to do one or the other because I think it will photograph better. My job is to understand what matters to you, help you build a timeline around it, and make sure we have everything we need to create beautiful photographs either way.
You choose the moment. I'll take care of the photographs. š¤
First look or no first look? š¤
There really isnāt a ārightā answer ā and I donāt think you should choose based on what you think will photograph better.
If you want a quiet moment together before the ceremony, weāll make it beautiful.
If youād rather wait for that moment when you see each other walking down the aisle, weāll make that beautiful, too.
My job isnāt to make you change your vision for the sake of a photograph. Itās to take what matters to you and figure out how to make it work beautifully.
Iāll build the timeline around your decision, find the best light, guide you when you need it, and make sure we have the time we need for beautiful images either way.
You choose the moment. Iāll take care of the photographs. š¤
