Springmyer Elementary School

Springmyer Spirit Week. Yesterday was Monochrome Monday.

Congratulations to the "Yeti" Award Winners: Izzi Spearman, Conner Harris and Arien Akers were recognized by an adult for being using the power of YET. The Power of Yet is grounded in research related to a Growth Mindset which is a critical skill for success in school and in life. It is related to perseverance and feelings of self-efficacy. The idea is simple. When you make a defeatist statement simply add the word “yet” to the end. Suddenly that statement becomes an unflappable promise that the task will be accomplished. Students today must be armed with the skills to accomplish difficult things and know that what is easy is not what is, typically, most important.

Reminder that SPIRIT WEEK starts tomorrow with Monochrome Monday! 🎉
