Saturday, Oct. 3rd - Fritz Pape and I will be collaborating on a sound piece for ECOTONE: Sonic Ascent at the Cincinnati Art Museum Art Climb steps as part of a larger event called Art on the Rise (1-5pm). I’ve played many shows with Fritz but this is the first time we will be working together on music so I’m really excited for it.

Cincinnati Art Museum’s “Art on The Rise: Fall Fun” event programming will kick off at 1 p.m. with a brief meditation session from Cincinnati Art Museum partner, The Well!

Following the meditation, creativity starts to flow as we prepare for the 2pm - 3pm performance of ECOTONE: Sonic Ascent. Five musical performances will transform five different plazas on the Art Climb into distinct sonic worlds, with solo musicians playing on the steps in-between. Inspired by the themes of Cosmic Café, Fairyland Forest, Crystal Cathedral, Haunted Shipwreck, and Steampunk Junkyard, the performance will create an evolving soundscape that changes with every step.

Storms moved our show indoors but the magic remained. Thanks to everyone who came out last night, to jen knarr for creating these unique moments of music and connection, and to The Loon: W**e Bar & Shop for being our backup venue. Always enjoy a chance to share the bill with The Hiders and witness the otherworldly guitar work of Joseph Allred. 😌

An evening of beautiful music is on the horizon. Tennessee-based guitarist Joseph Allred Joseph Allred will join local greats The Hiders Billy Alletzhauser and myself for an intimate house show in Northside on Saturday, September 5th. Space is limited so reach out for details soon!

A few more days on the West Coast and then back to Cincinnati. Trying to soak up as much sun as possible and take in the Redwood forest air. Had the tiniest audience member land on my headstock while I was playing this tune.

Thank you Oakland. Couldn’t have asked for a better evening and audience for guitar music. It was great to see old friends and share the space with amazing musicians. Until next time ✌️

At the end of next month James Meade Guitarist, Porter Fitch, and myself are doing another Nylon / Steel / Electric event at Conveyor Belt Books focusing on three sets of solo guitar styles making for a meditative evening of guitar music. The last one was really fun so I’m very much looking forward to this.
