Sometimes you're doing all the right things and still waiting for the results to show up.

You’re making the calls. Having the conversations. Following up. Showing up consistently.

And then something shifts.

The important thing to remember is that other people make decisions on their timeline and for their reasons—not yours.

You can’t control when someone else is ready to make a decision. You can control whether you keep doing the behaviors that put you in position when they are.

Don’t stop doing the work just because the results haven’t caught up yet.

💬 What keeps you consistent when the results aren't immediate?

🚨 Hiring Myth Monday #10

Myth: A great hire doesn't need onboarding.

Finding the right person is only the beginning.

Even experienced employees need time to understand how a new organization operates, what success looks like in their role, and how their manager and team communicate.

Onboarding is also an opportunity for managers to learn about their new employees. How do they learn best? How do they respond to feedback? What kind of coaching will help them succeed?

A strong onboarding process helps both sides establish expectations and build an effective working relationship from the start.

A great hire brings the potential. Onboarding helps turn that potential into performance.

💬 What's one thing you wish every employer included in their onboarding process?

🚨 Hiring Myth Monday #9

Myth: If you’re hiring quickly, you must be cutting corners.

A good hiring process doesn’t have to be a long hiring process.

Six interviews, endless conversations, and multiple hoops for candidates to jump through don’t automatically lead to a better decision. What matters is having a structured, consistent process designed to collect the information you actually need.

Know the skills and behaviors required for the role before you begin. Ask the right questions. Gather useful information. Then make the decision.

Hiring quickly isn’t necessarily the problem. Hiring quickly without knowing what you’re looking for is.

💬 How many steps does your hiring process really need?

09/18/2026

Great sales conversations aren’t built around how much you can tell a prospect about your product.

They’re built around how much you can learn about their problem.

It’s easy to jump into features and benefits—especially when silence feels uncomfortable. But when you’re doing most of the talking, you may never uncover what’s actually driving the conversation.

Ask better questions. Listen to the answers. Dig deeper. And be okay with a little silence.

Because your prospect isn’t really asking, “What does your product do?”

They’re asking, “Can you solve the problem that’s keeping me up at night?”

💬 Are you comfortable enough with silence to let your prospects do the talking?

🚨 Hiring Myth Monday

Myth: Assessments slow down the hiring process.

Yes, adding an assessment adds another step. But the number of steps isn’t what determines whether a hiring process is efficient.

Objective data early in the process can help you identify fit, understand the competencies and soft skills that matter for the role, and ask more targeted questions before making a hiring decision.

That extra step on the front end may help eliminate unnecessary steps—and costly mistakes—on the back end.

Faster isn’t always more efficient.

💬 Would you add a step to your hiring process if it helped you make a better decision sooner?

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the courage of the first responders, and reflect on the strength shown by so many in the days that followed.

We remember those who never came home, those who ran toward danger to help others, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

May we never forget. 🇺🇸

What exactly does TalentThrive do?

It starts with an assessment—but the assessment is only the beginning.

The TalentThrive Snapshot gives organizations a way to step back and look at an individual through a wider lens: their capabilities, their potential, and possibilities that may not be obvious from a résumé, an interview, or even their current role.

That insight can help leaders better understand the people already on their team and make more informed decisions about the people they bring onto it.

Sometimes the potential is already there. You just need a better way to see it.

💬 What could you discover about your people if you looked beyond what they're doing today?

🚨 Hiring Myth Monday

Myth: The perfect candidate is out there—you just have to keep looking.

The perfect résumé. Every technical skill. The exact experience. The right personality. And, of course, a salary that fits your budget.

Finding all of that in one person? You may be searching for a very long time.

Instead, consider what really needs to be there on day one and what can be developed. Skills can often be taught. Experience can be gained. A candidate who is motivated, willing to learn, and ready to contribute may be worth far more than someone who checks every box on paper.

Don’t miss a really good candidate because you’re waiting for a perfect one.

💬 What matters most to you when a candidate doesn’t check every box?

You don’t need a cabin in Colorado or a round of trust falls to build a more collaborative team.

Sometimes it starts with something much simpler: understanding the people you work with.

Some people naturally collaborate. Others are more reserved. Some want to take action immediately, while others need time to process before they move forward.

None of those approaches are necessarily right or wrong. The key is understanding those differences—and learning how to work with them instead of against them.

That’s where better communication starts. And ultimately, where better collaboration begins.

💬 How well does your team understand how each other works?

🚨 Hiring Myth Monday

Myth: An overqualified candidate probably won’t stay.

It’s easy to look at an experienced candidate and assume they’ll get bored, leave for something better, or simply won’t be satisfied in the role.

But what if they’re intentionally looking for something different?

Less stress. A career change. An individual contributor role instead of management. Different responsibilities. A work environment that fits them better.

Experience tells you what someone has done. It doesn’t necessarily tell you what they want next.

Before deciding an overqualified candidate is a flight risk, give them the opportunity to tell you their story.

💬 Have you ever hired someone who looked overqualified on paper but turned out to be a great fit?
