Whatever your thoughts on church, whatever your beliefs about God, you are welcome here. In 1995, we wanted a place where we could bring our friends.

And we were a little wary of hugging strangers, church lingo, and—quite frankly—bad coffee and kum-ba-yah. Over the years, eleven friends turned into thousands of people seeking truth and authentic community. And you’re invited to join in. We don’t expect you to agree with everything we do or say. We just ask that you’re open to considering the possibility that there is a God who loves and pursues you.

If you feel alone, there’s hope.

God might not take away whatever you face, but He promises to never leave you (Hebrews 13:5). Rather than running to fear when you feel overwhelmed, run to God instead. His peace is always available to you.

Today is the one, the only, Brian Tome’s birthday!

May your day be filled with humor, meat that you hunted down yourself, and of course, feeling extra loved. We’re all better because of how you follow Jesus. Happy Birthday, BT.

Also, if you ever wanted to hear how the Tomes sing “Happy Birthday,” swipe to end.

Do you have real friends? Here’s a simple test: are they allowed to tell you no?

Friends are there to sharpen you (Proverbs 27:17). And sharpening can only happen with friction.

You already know friendship matters. The harder question is: what happens when you tried it—and got hurt?

People got busy. The group fell apart. You felt betrayed. You got ghosted. After enough disappointment, it feels a whole lot safer to keep people at an arm’s length.

This week, Chuck Mingo isn’t talking about how to start building community. He’s talking about how to start again. Because even after the hurt, the disappointment, and the mess of doing life with other people, the Bible shows us friendship is still worth the risk.

Dust yourself off. It’s worth trying again.

David had that dog in him.

There’s a swagger that comes when you know you don’t have to depend on your own power (1 Samuel 17). When Goliath stood before Israel and taunted them day after day, David took offense. He challenged Goliath not on his own authority, but on the very God that Israel defied. David acted not to protect his own self and his own interests, but on those of the One who’s power he relied on.

There’s probably a giant in your way. It’s taunting you day after day, and wants to get you to step back in fear. But when you get to partner with the Creator of the Universe, you realize that any giant in your way is ready to get demolished.

When we say this place runs on volunteers, it’s people like the Neelys.

They give their time and energy so kids and their families can hear about God in a language they can each understand. Volunteering is more than filling an empty spot. It makes an impact.

Serving is core to the DNA of Crossroads because when we see a need, we show up. As a volunteer, that’s exactly what you’re doing. Whether you welcome kids in Kids’ Club, help park cars, or provide disaster relief, you’re joining a team of people who get their jerseys dirty to make a difference.
