25 years later, I can still remember exactly where I was.

I remember the feeling, the disbelief, the fear, and the pain of watching our country experience something none of us were prepared for. It’s one of those moments in life that stays with you forever.

So many lives were lost that day. So many families were changed forever. And yet, in the middle of so much pain, I also remember something powerful, I remember how we came together.

It wasn’t about Republican or Democrat. It wasn’t about where you came from, what you looked like, or what you believed. We were Americans.

We prayed together. We cried together. We helped each other. Neighbors looked out for neighbors. Strangers became family. Our country stood together as one.

I wish we could hold on to more of that unity today.

On this 25th anniversary of September 11, I remember the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, the families who still carry that pain, and a country that showed what it looked like to stand together.

May we never forget that day, and may we never forget who we were for one another afterward.
