Freedom Rows Veterans Rowing -Team Cleveland

Yesterday was our last day sculling out on the Cuyahoga River for the season.
We had another workout with Mike, an Army vet. And met Nate, a Navy Vet. Both members use a wheelchair in daily life; but with specialized adaptations they
did well and totally enjoyed these opportunities to be on the river!

With: Northeast Ohio Adaptive Rowing Society,
Western Reserve Rowing Assoc , WRRA volunteers and Cleveland Rowing Foundation, CRF coach.

We have our own race. Veterans, 8 rowers. In 2 boats this year: Freedom Rows and American Legion. Both will have tents to visit.
We also will have our partner NE OH Adaptive Rowing Society present. Please stop by. Ask us anything; about opportunities, service and/or just chat!
See you Sept 26th!

On September 26, we celebrate 30 years of competition, unforgettable moments and river-powered community! What’s your favorite Head of the Cuyahoga memory?

All the time we can spend with our brothers and sisters that 'lost something in the fight', isn't enough. But these veterans had a great time learning new skills in a scull.
Limited mobility, vision, hearing, and those who sacrificed limbs -all this had an impact on their day, and wellbeing. Every little bit counts! That includes handing off a water bottle, holding a boat.. you name it! Another good day on in the water, esp when helping others.

Partnered with NEOARS (NE OH Adaptive Rowing Society) WRRA (Western Reserve Rowing Assoc.) and CRF (Cleveland Rowing Foundation).

Some of our teammates and Coach supported NEOARS at the boathouse (North East OH Adaptive Rowing Society).
