Sunshine ☀️ Rescued ingredients 🍅 Good people 💚

That's the recipe for a perfect weekend at the Hessler Street Fair! The FoRK's homemade dough and sauce were made from rescued ingredients, turning food that would've gone to waste into some seriously good pizza.

Every slice supported Hunger Network's mission to fight hunger in Northeast Ohio, because no one should go hungry and no good food should go to waste.

Roger, Dusty and Julie kept the pizza flowing and the good vibes going from start to finish. Thank you, team! 🙌

And to everyone who stopped by for a slice (or two 👀): you just helped rescue food AND fight hunger.

Until next time, Hessler! 🧡

200 full-choice pantry shifts—and a milestone worth celebrating! 💚

On September 24, MidTown Market completed its 200th full-choice pantry shift since adopting the model in 2024.

Here, neighbors can browse and select the groceries, fresh produce and personal care items that best meet their household’s needs. Because choosing what you bring home matters.

Thank you to Emma, Elijah, our volunteers and everyone who helps make MidTown Market a welcoming place where neighbors can shop with dignity, respect and choice.

You met the match—and kept the momentum going. 🧡

Together, you gave $33,191.83 during Hunger Action Month, unlocking the full $20,000 matching gift—for an incredible $53,191.83 in total support!

Every gift helps Hunger Network connect neighbors with nutritious food and build a future where no one goes hungry and no food goes to waste.

To everyone who donated, volunteered and spread the word: thank you for showing what we can accomplish together!

September may be ending, but your generosity carries forward.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! ☀️

On Sunday, our Associate Board hosted our first Partner & Volunteer Picnic at Lincoln Park! There were lawn games, music, fall sunshine, and a spread cooked up by our Food Rescue Kitchen, The FoRK.

This was our way of saying thank you to the volunteers who serve at pantries, deliver food rescues, and show up week after week. You're the reason we can reach neighbors across Northeast Ohio. Seeing so many of you in one place was the best part of our month.

Huge thanks to Mitchell's Homemade Ice Cream The Children's Museum of Cleveland Greater Cleveland Aquarium Cleveland Monsters and for the prizes! 🎉

$22,000 on the 22nd—now that’s something to wear orange about. 🧡

Thanks to the generosity of our community, Hunger Network has surpassed our original $20,000 fundraising goal.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we also know the need doesn’t stop at a number. With the rest of September still ahead, we’re setting our sights on a new goal: $30,000.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our campaign and stood with our neighbors. Let’s see what more we can accomplish together.

One million rescues — what an incredible milestone. 💚

Food Rescue Hero has officially reached one million food rescues across its network, and Hunger Network is proud to be one of the contributing partners helping move good food where it’s needed instead of letting it go to waste.

Behind every rescue is a volunteer choosing to show up — picking up surplus food from grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries and other food donors and delivering it to nonprofit partners in their communities.

Here in Northeast Ohio, our own Food Rescue Heroes are part of that larger movement, giving their time and energy to help connect good food with our neighbors.

During Hunger Action Month, we’re especially proud to celebrate this milestone and the collective impact of volunteers and partners across the Food Rescue Hero network. 🧡💚

One million rescues — and counting.

They came to volunteer — and surprised us with even more support. 🧡💚

A huge thank you to the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) for spending time with us at MidTown Market and presenting Hunger Network with a generous $1,000 donation!

Their time, energy and generosity help us continue connecting our neighbors with the food and resources they need.

This Hunger Action Month, this is what taking action looks like. 🧡
