Shining the spotlight on Limelight Member Keith Kurak. He is the Head of Customer Engineering with Expo: which makes open source tools and services for building mobile and web apps for different platforms with the same codebase. Keith helps the teams behind a lot of the apps on a phone's home screen get the most out of Expo's tools. The company has sent him out to give talks and run workshops in places like New York, Portland, Atlanta, Miami, Mexico City, London, and Krakow, Poland.

Keith grew up in Brecksville. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University and then an MBA from Baldwin Wallace University. For the past 17 years, Keith has lived in Old Brooklyn with his wife where they have welcomed 5 children, 4 chickens, 2 ducks, a box turtle and a cat!

While his work and home lives keep him very busy, Keith likes to cook, focusing on breakfast foods or desserts like tarts and baked Alaska. He also enjoys video games, especially old 8 and 16-bit era stuff. Keith also is known for figuring out ways to maximize use of his cargo eBike running errands, school drop offs, etcetera.

We appreciate that Keith commented during this Q&A that he often gets complimented by coworkers and customers alike on the Limelight decor in the Zoom backdrop. They'll ask, "is that a WeWork?" And he tells them, "Cleveland is too good for WeWork!"
