OUR MISSION
DANCECleveland aspires to be a national model for how a presenting organization serves its community, leveraging the world’s best modern and contemporary dance to inspire and educate audiences, local dancers, and community members. We bring renowned modern and contemporary dance companies from around the world to perform on the stages of northeast Ohio through our annual dance series. A COMMISSIONER of new dance works, DANCECleveland brings up-and-coming choreographers from across the nation to be inspired by our community as they create new dance pieces. AN EDUCATOR through the Read to Learn…Dance To Move program, an early childhood program that brings professional dancers into preschool and kindergarten classrooms to inspire creativity through literacy and movement. A RESOURCE to the dance community by offering free dance classes with visiting world class dancers and directors for local dancers of all ages and abilities. A NATIONAL LEADER recognized by organizations such as Dance/USA for their innovative audience engagement programs such as the Dance Advance Team (DAT), pre and post show activities. A VISIONARY by collaborating with the region’s leading arts, cultural and educational organizations to create co-presenting relationships.

Enjoy a free advanced contemporary ballet masterclass with Charlotte Ballet Artistic Director, Alejandro Cerrudo! Class will start with a barre, warm up and end with the opportunity to learn a section of repertoire. Dancers should bring ballet slippers and wear appropriate dance attire. Designed for dancers ages 14 and up who are dancing at an advanced, pre-professional or professional level. Class location: Gund Studio at the Idea Center located at: 1375 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115. Class time will run from 10 am to 11:30 am. Registration opens Oct. 7th.

We're bringing back Dance Career Day this Oct.! Hurry- registration ends Oct. 9th!
Help the young dancers in your life navigate the next steps to pursue a career in the arts and beyond!

Who is it for?
Dance Career Day is designed for high school students and their parents/guardians to learn more about careers and pathways to pursue dance beyond high school. Students must be entering or enrolled in high school to participate.
Sessions will explore topics such as career pathways in dance, preparing for college, branding and social media best practices, careers in concert dance, commercial dance, a parents only session, and career “speed dating”. All students will also participate in either a modern dance or hip hop masterclass.

Fall in love with contemporary movement as Charlotte Ballet makes its Playhouse Square debut—launching DANCECleveland mainstage season with an evening that is bold, beautiful, and irresistibly alive.
The stunning evening of four contemporary ballet works features versatile dancers performing contemporary favorites like Jiří Kylián’s stunning Petite Mort, set to two of Mozart’s most famous piano concertos and known for its striking imagery, elegant tension, and haunting intimacy. Also on the program are Crystal Pite’s Solo Echo, a deeply moving meditation on love, loss, and acceptance, and As I Am, by resident choreographer Mthuthuzeli November, a work that pulses with individuality and emotional honesty.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the sold-out performances of Black by Nature choreographed and created by Dominic Moore-Dunson in Summit Metro Parks! The 4 pm performance of Black by Nature - Dominic Moore-Dunson in the Summit Metro Parks has unfortunately been cancelled today due to weather conditions. We are equally saddened by this and apologize for this inconvenience. We hope for better weather next week at Prather Trail.
