Celebrating God’s goodness at 30 year anniversary gala!

This has been my church home for 30 years. My mother was an integral part of starting this church and introducing me to God and it has been a pillar in the city for many years. As a child and teenager I was the church kid. I sang in the children’s, teen and young adult choir, I was on the mime team, the step team, the drama team, I served in many ministries but as I got older I became more like the prodigal son (daughter). The world had a strong hold on me for years and it wasn’t until I came back to my church home in 2015 that I really began living my life for God.

I’m thankful that the lessons I learned as a child at New Community stuck with me and though I departed, they never departed from me and the Lord was so gracious to call me back home. I’m blessed to have a place to call home.

Fun fact: New Community gave me my first salaried job right out of undergrad and I learned so much about work ethic, excellence and professionalism during my 5 years there that I now take with me everywhere I go.

Congrats to the leaders for being faithful to the calling God gave to them 30 years ago!

One month in with Ms. Amina Grace Evans 💕

Everyone said this time would fly and they were right. I can’t believe she’s been with us for a month already.

Towards the end of my pregnancy I started reading Supernatural Childbirth and believed God that He would allow her to come naturally when she was ready and God answered that prayer in the most unconventional way possible lol She made her entrance into our lives 9 days early in the lobby of the hospital and has been going strong ever since.

She’s such a blessing to our lives and has changed me in all ways possible 💕

This month was busy but fulfilling! Ok let’s see what all happened this month:

📌 Attended Good Friday and Easter services with my friends and family and hosted dinner in my home
📌 Hosted an in-office bridal shower and baby shower for my coworkers
📌 Witnessed my beautiful friend get engaged
📌 Ate good food 😋
📌 Caught a gorgeous sunset at the lake
📌 Hung out with my 6th grade mentee at a Guardians game
📌Hosted my monthly virtual Bible study
📌Attended an amazing high tea bridal shower
📌Got up and worked out at 5:30am
📌Attended the Cleveland.com Women’s Summit
📌Girls trip to Philly for the Glory Conference

Plus much more! This month was a reminder to me that you can create the life you desire within God’s will. For so long I sat back and let life happen to me operating out of a victim mentality instead of taking ownership of my own and finding peace and joy in everything. It’s a process but much more fulfilling to make life happen instead of letting life happen to you.

It’s a new month and a new opportunity to live the life you’ve always wanted 🙌🏾

Glory was undoubtedly one of the best experiences I’ve had as a Christian woman….

Many times you find when you gather a bunch of women in a room, the energy becomes competitive and self seeking. This room was filled with the Holly spirit, grace, love and community.

The teaching was robust and convicting challenging me to go deeper in my knowledge of God and higher in my calling.

If you have never been to , grab your girls and book it for the remaining fall dates! I promise you’ll leave feeling refreshed and renewed.

I push authentic Christian community so hard because I’ve seen the benefit and fruit of the relationships!

These are just two of the couples that have made an impact in my life and marriage by walking closely with me.

Everyone needs a Paul, Barnabus and a Timothy in their life. And if you’re unsure of what that means, I’ll briefly explain.

Everyone needs a mentor, associate/peer and apprentice/mentee in their life. We all need someone to build into our lives and mentor us (Paul), we all need someone who can labor and work alongside us (Barnabus), and we need someone we can pass on the wisdom and knowledge God has given us (Timothy).

My Paul is my mentor in the first pic, my Barnabus is one my closest friend’s Lauren and the mother to my first god-child 👼🏾 in the second pic and my Timothy or Timothy’s are the ladies I’ve had the chance to disciple over the years.

If you don’t have this relational dynamic, I encourage you to pray and ask God to bring them into your life to walk beside you and guide you. Life is much more easier and enjoyable when you’re walking it out alongside people who love you, care about you and that love God 💫

I thank God for my community of not only friends but of family as well that have guided me my entire life. My life is a reflection of the village that raised me 🙌🏾
