It's hard to believe almost a year has passed since I exhibited at The Sculpture Center. The opening was on August 7th, 2025, and served as a preview to our Transformative Arts Fund project in Asiatown Cleveland.

Exhibition Statement:
Cleveland-based artist Jordan Wong continues his exploration of identity, growth, and the Ultimate Self through the lens of Chinese and American culture in his exhibition "I LOVE THE NUMBER 8, BUT 10 IS GOOD TOO. " Wong presents ten works, many of which mark the artist’s first foray into sculpture while continuing to translate his drawings and visuals into other media and experiences, including lenticular prints, animation, laser-cut steel, and more. Additionally, this exhibition provides a preview of Wong’s creative vision for five new public artworks—made possible through the City of Cleveland’s Transformative Arts Fund in partnership with The Sculpture Center and in collaboration with MidTown Cleveland and OCA (Asian Pacific American Advocates, Greater Cleveland Chapter) that will be installed in Cleveland’s AsiaTown, currently a DIY community space with plans to become a future permanent park for the neighborhood’s residents and visitors.

Since November of last year, I have been working with the NLDP Cleveland and St Clair Superior Development to bring a new public artwork to Asiatown Cleveland ✨

I am so excited to invite you all to the celebration event for this newly completed work on Friday next week (6/5), from 4 PM to 5:30 PM, outside Siam Café—the home of this new art installation!

SPACES welcomes Jordan Wong as one of five jurors for The Satellite Fund, 2026!

Jordan Wong (WONGFACE) is a Chinese American artist creating visual work inspired by anime, manga, and video game culture. His drawings, icons, and installations explore ethnic and cultural identity, the “Ultimate self,” and “leveling up” through life.

Jordan has produced artwork throughout Cleveland and has exhibited at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, the Massillon Museum, and the Akron Art Museum. In 2024, he was one of seven artists selected from over 100 applicants to receive Cleveland’s Transformative Arts Fund, leading a $450,000 public art initiative in partnership with The Sculpture Center.
