Another reason to grow your own food.

PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” are raising new concerns about the use of sewage sludge on farmland. These chemicals can persist in soil and water and potentially make their way into the food system.

You can’t control everything that happens in our food system, but growing your own food gives you more control over what goes into the soil and onto your plate.

This beautiful new mural at Superior Farm is the result of the incredible talent, hard work, and generosity of so many wonderful organizations, artists, volunteers, and community members.

Back in April, Nestlé’s team joined us for a volunteer day, helping fund the project and getting started on the restoration of the wall. From there, even more groups and volunteers stepped in to help finish the restoration and prepare the wall for its transformation.

Thanks to support from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, we were able to work with the incredibly talented muralist Josh Maxwell to bring the vision to life. Residents, volunteers, and students from our Summer Academy program also picked up their brushes and helped make the mural their own.

We are so grateful to everyone who contributed their time, talent, and resources to this project. Thank you for investing in our community and helping make the future of Superior Farm a little more colorful.

Every Thursday and second Saturday, Superior Farm opens its gates to volunteers ready to make a real difference in our community. Planting vegetables, clearing debris, building farm infrastructure, harvesting fresh produce, or just helping keep the space running: there's a role for everyone.
