Jumbo the Elephant Lights Up for ITP! Thank you to the City of St. Thomas for supporting ITP Awareness! π
π Jumbo Shines Purple for ITP Awareness π
Jumbo is shining purple in recognition of Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) Awareness!
ITP is a rare autoimmune blood disorder that causes a low platelet count and can lead to increased bruising and bleeding. Lighting Jumbo purple helps raise awareness, show support for those living with ITP and their families, and encourage greater understanding of this often-unseen condition.
Tonight, we join communities in helping shine a light on ITP. π

More than a platelet count. More than a diagnosis. More than the challenges ITP can bring.
A platelet count is just one part of the story. Behind every number is a person with goals, dreams, relationships, and a life that extends far beyond a lab result.
This ITP Awareness Month, we celebrate the resilience of everyone in the ITP community who continues to move forward, advocate for themselves, and live life on their own terms.

π What an incredible first Pump It Up for Platelets event in St. Thomas, Ontario!
More than 80 people came together to raise awareness, connect with the ITP community, and show their support for those living with ITP β including 6 ITP warriors who helped make the day so special. π
We were also honored to welcome Andrew Lawton Andrew Lawton, Member of Parliament for the local area, as a special guest. Having a local elected representative join us is a meaningful way to bring greater visibility to ITP and the experiences of patients and families in the community. Andrew, thank you for taking the time to be there, learn more about ITP, and stand alongside the ITP community. We truly appreciate your support!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this first St. Thomas event such a success β the organizers, volunteers, ITP warriors, families, friends, and everyone who showed up to Pump It Up for Platelets! π©Έπ

Living with ITP isn't always about reaching a perfect platelet count. Sometimes, it's about finding stability, confidence, and a treatment approach that allows you to live your life.
Meet Julia from Germany, a medical assistant living with ITP. Through her journey, she learned that stability matters more than perfect numbers and that quality of life is about much more than a platelet count. π
Read Julia's story and discover the perspective that helped her navigate life with ITP.

π Today is I Sport Purple for Platelets! Day π
The global ITP community is coming together to raise awareness for Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP), a rare autoimmune blood disorder in which the immune system mistakenly attacks platelets, resulting in increased platelet destruction and, for some people, reduced platelet production.
Whether you're wearing a purple shirt, rocking purple accessories or hair, lighting up a landmark, or going all out in purple, every photo helps spread awareness and make ITP more visible.
