Today, Smart Development had the incredible opportunity to participate in a hard hat tour of the future Westside Greater Cleveland Food Bank Community Resource Center during the Partner Kick-Off Meeting!

It was inspiring to stand alongside the 12 committed community partners who we all will each have a presence in this innovative space, all united by a shared vision of expanding access to resources and strengthening support for our neighbors.

Watching this vision come to life was truly special, and we are honored to be part of a project that will make such a meaningful impact across Greater Cleveland. We can't wait to continue this journey together and see the doors open to the community! 💙🏗️🤝

A fresh start begins with a place to call home. ❤️

Yesterday, Smart Development helped a resilient single mother and her children as they moved into a new home and began rebuilding their lives. Our team provided beds, blankets, sheets, furniture, and special items like decor and toys for the children to help turn an empty house into a warm, welcoming home.

At Smart Development, we believe every family deserves dignity, stability, and hope. We're honored to stand beside families during life's most important moments and help make new beginnings possible.

In the Cleveland area, many older homes still do not have central air conditioning, leaving thousands of families vulnerable during periods of extreme heat. Studies have found that Cleveland has significantly more households without air conditioning than many comparable cities, with older housing and lower-income neighborhoods disproportionately affected.

Without access to adequate cooling, children are at greater risk of heat exhaustion, dehydration, worsening asthma, and other heat-related illnesses. For families already facing financial hardship, staying safe during the summer can become an impossible choice.

Smart Development purchased a new window air conditioning unit for a Sudanese family of 13, most of them children to help ensure they have a safe place to escape the heat.

Sometimes, one simple act can protect an entire family. ❤️

📣 DAY OF DIGNITY 2026

Smart Development is proud to host Day of Dignity 2026, our End of Summer Giving Day, bringing together community partners to provide free essential items and connect families with valuable resources before the school year begins and the colder months arrive.

Through the incredible generosity of Islamic Relief USA and our community partners, we anticipate distributing:

🎒 Nearly 1,000 backpacks
✏️ Nearly 1,200 school supply kits
🧤 Nearly 1,200 winter care kits
🪥 Nearly 1,200 hygiene kits
🩷 More than 650 feminine hygiene kits
🧥 More than 1,400 winter coats
🧸 More than 750 toys
➕ And additional essential items while supplies last.

Families will also have the opportunity to connect with organizations providing employment opportunities, healthcare services, education, public benefits assistance, workforce resources, and much more. Confirmed partners include Cuyahoga Job and Family Services, MJ Morgan Group, College Now Greater Cleveland, Neighborhood Family Practice, with additional organizations to be announced soon.

When a newcomer family relocates or experiences an uncontrollable situation that forces them to move and start over once again in a new community, the need for basic household essentials can be overwhelming.

We help provide items such as beds, bedding, kitchen supplies, furniture, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and other everyday necessities so families can focus on rebuilding their lives with dignity and hope.

A fresh start should never mean starting with nothing. Together, we are helping families turn empty spaces into homes and uncertainty into opportunity—one family at a time. ❤️

As dangerous heat waves settle into our community, Smart Development is helping ensure families stay safe. We have already distributed more than 16 portable fans to households in need, many of whom do not have central air conditioning or have systems that cannot keep up with the extreme heat, especially with young children at home.

A simple fan can make a meaningful difference during these high-temperature days. Together, we can help our neighbors stay cool, safe, and healthy this summer. ☀️

When families are worried about where their next meal will come from, it is nearly impossible to focus on building a better future.

At Smart Development, we believe food security is more than just putting food on the table. It is the foundation that allows newcomer families to pursue employment, gain new skills, complete workforce training, and build long-term stability.

By helping fill immediate gaps through nutritious food assistance and other basic needs support, we remove barriers that stand in the way of self-sufficiency. The fresh peoduce provided creates space for a parent to attend a job interview, complete a certification, or focus on building a brighter future for their family.

Strong communities begin by meeting basic needs, but they thrive when people are empowered with the tools, opportunities, and support to succeed.

Together, we are building pathways from stability to opportunity.
