For everyone asking if Coco is okay… ❤️
She is doing so much better and yes… we took care of the situation.
If you saw yesterday’s yellow jacket video here’s the part that wasn’t funny.
Coco was stung multiple times and started shaking, panting and breaking out in hives. We ended up at MedVet Cleveland and they administered an antihistamine and pain medicine right away. (Shoutout to all of the employees who work there. They were busy, with pets in and out but they do such a good job over there!!)
Thankfully, my girl is doing so much better today.
I’m sharing this because I genuinely had no idea how quickly a dog could react to multiple stings. You hear stories and then it happens to you and you have a better understanding. The worst part is in the heat of the moment, we hadn’t even realized she’d been stung. After watching the video, you can see her rolling around on the couch and rubbing her face. She didn’t even bark. She was probably in shock.
So this is really just a friendly reminder to be extra cautious this time of year when mowing the lawn, taking care of weeds and just enjoying the outdoors. This is the time of year when yellow jackets realize cooler weather is on the horizon… and those things are crazy!

We can laugh now… but yesterday this was absolute CHAOS.
(And yes, I was laughing while crying because it really hurt!!)
Coco found a yellow jacket nest hidden in our mulch and apparently they sent out the attack signal.
I got stung. Mike got stung FIVE times. My brother got stung. The kids got sent to the basement and weren’t harmed. A few yellow jackets made it into the house but we got rid of them with our vacuum.
And then we realized poor Coco had been stung all over and was having a reaction. We couldn’t differentiate between stings and hives and we knew she was in distress.
We ended up at the pet emergency hospital just after 7:00PM and got home just before 4AM. Thankfully her meds are helping and she’s doing so much better today. 🩷

So consider this your PSA: yellow jackets are NO JOKE — especially when it comes to dogs.
I learned late summer is prime “we own your backyard now” season, so check mulch, landscaping and areas around the house before your dog starts investigating.
And if you see a nest?
DO. NOT. MESS. WITH. THEM.
Call a professional to take care of the issue.

When you can’t choose between sweet or savory… so you make both. 😆
Which one are you grabbing first?

Boys had a 5k test so I figured I’d go for the 2k. Still working toward that sub 8 but I’ll take the PR. 💪🏻

Four years ago today my grandfather Anthony W. Zebrowski was inducted into the International Polka Association Hall of Fame. A pioneer in the polka music industry, he was a musician that not only helped promote polka music but he also hosted a successful radio show on WZAK 93.1.
My grandfather passed away before I was born but it’s amazing to see his legacy being carried on within my family.
I have aunts and uncles, cousins and even children of my own who have a passion for music. I have family members who are working hard to promote causes that are important to them. I have family who also have a love for the broadcasting field. This isn’t a coincidence. It’s in our blood.
This popped up in my memories today and it reminded me that no matter where you’re going, never forget where you come from. xo
