Join us for the More Than My Art: Creative Impact Network 2026 Showcase, celebrating the creativity, perspectives, and artistic journeys of our second CIN cohort!
Come experience the artwork they’ve created throughout the program, connect with the artists and community, and celebrate all that they’ve brought to this year’s cohort.
Plus, enjoy interactive creative activism and civic engagement activities, and refreshments throughout the evening.

Today we’re gathering to inaugurate PRISM: Seeing Beyond Mass Incarceration at the Cleveland Public Library, Martin Luther King Jr. Branch.
This afternoon brings together artists and practitioners who have been working to shift systems and conversations:
12pm – Grounding with Gwendolyn Garth 
12:15pm – Music and Mass Incarceration with Bakari Kitwana / Rap Sessions and Brittany Benton 
1pm – Keynote: Gary Tyler in conversation with Ayesha Bell Hardaway
2pm – PRISM artists Aaron D. Williams, Da’Shaunae Marisa, and Sherrill Roland, moderated by Fanna Gebreyesus 
3pm – The Marshall Project’s Inside Story with Lawrence Jah Bartley and Louis Fields
4pm – Meditation, sound bath, and time to connect
Mass incarceration touches families and neighborhoods across Cleveland. PRISM makes room to reckon with that impact and to imagine what safety and justice could look like beyond it, grounded in the perspectives of people with lived experience.
Join us from 12–5pm. The event is free, refreshments will be served, and walk-ins are welcome, but registration is preferred. Parking is available in the Artisan Garage behind the library.

The convening is tomorrow, Sept. 26, from 12–5pm at the library’s Martin Luther King Jr. Branch. It’s free and open to everyone, with seats available through the link in our bio.

These projects employ local artists, strengthen community connections, and add vibrant new landmarks to Cleveland Heights.

What a joyful addition to the Cedar Lee Arts District !
Local multidisciplinary artist Justin Michael Will () has transformed the Anatolia Cafe building at the southern end of Lee Road into a whimsical playground of native animals, trees, and meandering creeks. The fanciful nature scene is designed to evoke a sense of joy—for young and old alike.
Will’s commercial illustration, design, and mural practice can be seen throughout the region, from galleries, breweries, and restaurants to the sides of buildings in Cleveland-area suburbs. A graduate of Columbus College of Art and Design, Will has built much of his artistic practice through self-directed learning and experience.
The mural is also a wonderful complement to the iconic “JOY” mural painted by Betty Lau in the 1970s, just kitty-corner at Lee and Silsby Roads.
Together, these works add color, character, and a sense of place to City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio - City Hall.

Yesterday, we joined Park(ing) Day in downtown Cleveland, where a stretch of Prospect Ave became a place for people instead of just cars. We hosted a “Sketch with LAND” pop-up and loved chatting and drawing with everyone who stopped by!!
Park(ing) Day is an international celebration of reclaiming street parking spots as pop-up parks and green spaces. It’s a small, playful way to imagine what our public spaces could be when we rethink how they’re designed and used. ✍️💡đź’

Cleveland Heights artist Dante Rodriguez is putting the finishing touches on his latest mural at the Green Olive building in the Cedar Lee Arts District —and the inspiration behind it is rooted right here in our community. 🌱
Learn of his inspiration from the city of Cleveland Heights in this YouTube video.
Rodriguez’s art has been exhibited throughout Greater Cleveland and beyond, with shows in Pittsburgh, Beverly, MA, Columbus, and Sandusky. His work can also be found in private collections, at Berkman Hall at Cleveland State University, and in two public murals in Cleveland.
