University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s and Nationwide Children's Hospital are expanding their collaboration to improve pediatric care and increase access for families across Northeast Ohio. Plans include recruiting more pediatric specialists and investing together in facilities and services that meet the region’s needs.

Recovery continues long after an emergency ends.

Fifteen months after the Rainbow Terrace apartment explosion, survivors are still seeking answers. The June 2025 tragedy displaced more than 100 people and claimed one man’s life. Investigators have classified the cause as undetermined, leaving families with ongoing questions and grief.

At the Partnership for a Safer Cleveland, we believe community safety includes safe housing, clear communication, and sustained support for people recovering from tragedy. Listening to residents and keeping their needs at the center of the response are essential to building trust and helping families heal.

Former school buildings could become new sources of support and opportunity for Cleveland neighborhoods. 🏫

According to NEOtrans Cleveland, Cleveland has selected project partners for nine closed school sites. Proposed uses include affordable senior housing at Collinwood High School and a new home for Canopy Child Advocacy Center at Bolton School, serving children and families affected by abuse.

Residents helped shape the selection process, and community participation will continue as plans move forward.

Coordinated efforts to address outstanding warrants are one part of building safer communities.

According to Cleveland 19 News, Operation Clean House resulted in 75 arrests in the Cleveland area from September 14 through September 25. The operation involved the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Inspector General.

Authorities reported arresting 68 wanted individuals utilizing HUD housing and seven additional people with outstanding felony warrants.

75 arrests made during ‘Operation Clean House’ in Cleveland U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot and other agencies announced Wednesday that over 70 fugitives were arrested during a two-week operation in the Cleveland area.

Cleveland’s latest police monitoring report highlights meaningful progress and important work still ahead.

The Nineteenth Semiannual Report, covering January through June 2026, documents continued improvements in use of force practices, crisis intervention, and officer training. It also identifies ongoing concerns involving civilian complaint backlogs, access to disciplinary records, officer intervention systems, disruptions at Community Police Commission meetings, and training facilities.

The upcoming closure of Heinen's downtown Cleveland location is raising important questions about the connection between public safety, economic vitality, and the future of our downtown.

According to reporting from the Fox 8 News I Team report, crime and safety concerns were among the factors affecting the downtown location.

When residents, employees, visitors, and businesses do not feel safe, the impact can extend well beyond individual incidents. It can influence where people work, shop, invest, visit, and spend their time.
