Can you do these 🔥VOCAL TECHNIQUES🔥? It can take a while to get the hang of them, but mastering vocal techniques will make your singing so much more interesting! 🎤✨

Here is a breakdown of what’s in the video:

Twang: A bright, brassy resonance technique that helps your voice cut through the mix with ease.

Riff / Run: Rapidly singing a series of notes in quick succession on a single vowel sound.

Bend: Pitch-sliding smoothly into or out of a targeted note for extra stylistic flair.

Trill: A rapid alteration between two adjacent musical notes, creating a flickering effect.

Yodel: A quick, intentional flip between your chest voice and head voice.

Vibrato: A natural, rhythmic variation in pitch that adds warmth and depth to sustained notes.

🎹 How to find the KEY of a song! Let’s break down "Dai Dai" by Shakira! 🎵👇

Here’s a super simple ear-training trick you can use every single time:

1️⃣ Listen for that one note that feels like total rest or resolution, it’s usually the note the melody naturally wants to land on.

2️⃣ Pull up a virtual piano app on your phone and match the exact note you hummed to lock in the pitch.

3️⃣ Does the song feel bright and happy (Major), or more moody and dramatic (Minor)?

4️⃣ Practice, Practice, Practice: The more you do this, the faster your ear catches on. Keep at it! 🎹✨

🛑 Stop OVERTHINKING vibrato! Try this exercise daily to build flexibility in your voice.

If you want a beautiful, healthy vibrato (which is really just a natural, rapid fluctuation in pitch), you have to master three things:

1. Zero tension.

2. Maximum vocal flexibility.

3. Turning off your brain.

This exercise where I hit the same note repeatedly is my absolute favorite way to train this.

It trains your vocal muscles to attack a note with precision and then immediately relax into freedom, rather than gripping for dear life.

Practicing regularly will help let your voice bounce naturally.

👀 SEE HOW different a song can sound when you change vocal registers?!

That’s exactly why with my voice students, I always start off within their first two lessons teaching them how their own voice registers feel and sound.

Each register has its own unique pros, cons, and areas where it can easily trip you up.

But once you start to truly understand and get a feel for those different qualities? It completely changes the game and makes you such a stronger singer! ✨

👀 Don’t take the easy way out (Stay in mix!)👇

Navigating the transition from A to C # in mixed voice is easily one of the trickiest zones for most people. It’s that exact middle ground where the voice naturally wants to pull apart, but this 30-second exercise is all about building a seamless bridge instead.

Save this post, take a second to focus, and let’s run through it.

Here is how to get it to click:

1. Aim for a bright, nasal tone to help you lock into that resonant sweet spot for mix.

2. Take a deep, intentional breath right before each round so you have enough support.

3. Don't back off the power or quiet down when the notes get higher, stay committed to the sound.

4. Project from your nasal resonators, focusing the vibration right in the mask of your face.

Be patient and fight the urge to automatically flip into head voice.

This specific region takes time and muscle memory to master, so if it feels a little shaky at first, just loop the video and try again.

😳 Does your voice sound "pinched"?

Anticipating the consonants when singing is one of the most common things that holds back a free, resonant voice!

Here’s why we do it: When we speak, our brains are wired to rely heavily on consonants to get our point across quickly. Spoken language is fast, choppy, and efficient.

But singing is a whole different ball game.

Singing is sustained speech. The tone, the beauty, and the power of your voice actually live entirely inside the vowel sounds. Consonants are just the little goalposts that start and end the sound.

When you anticipate the consonant, you choke off your air supply and cut your resonance short.

The secret? Hang onto that vowel for 95% of the note, and flick the consonant away at the very last millisecond!
