Although it’s a few weeks late. We were able to get a picture of Zack Harkness to congratulate him for his dedicated service to the City of Cleveland and surrounding communities while working with the Cleveland Fire Department for 10 years.

CFD was dispatched to the report of a fire at Pace Stancil Funeral home. Upon the first units arrival smoke was showing from the D side of the building. The fire was located in an exterior wall. There were no injuries. Responding units included Ladder 42, Tanker 41, Booster 42, 403, and Cleveland PD units. We appreciate the mutual aid assistance from East Montgomery County FD E155, E156, BC155, Tarkington VFD E51, S51, 501, Allegience EMS on stand by and West Liberty County VFD T871.

Ladder 42 was honored to participate in the dedication ceremony for HW 105 By-Pass being named Veterans Memorial Parkway.

401, Booster 42, and Engine 42 were assisted by East Montgomery County FD, and Tarkington VFD with a 2.65 acre fire on HW 105 W near the Montgomery County line. There were no injuries and no structures damaged.

Ladder 42, and Tanker 41 responded to a vehicle fire on HW 59/I-69 S. There were no injuries.

CFD units are out in the storm for power lines and trees down off of I-69 N feeder and East River Drive. Entergy has been advised and has crews responding.

05/23/2026

Units responded to the report of a tree on a house in the 500 Block of Dunham. Upon their arrival the power line was down and the tree landed on their truck.

05/20/2026

Ladder 42, Tanker 41, Tanker 42 and 401 responded to the report of a structure fire. There was smoke and fire visible upon arrival and it was determined that the structure was not in use. The remaining structure was still searched and no victims were located. We assistance from East Montgomery Fire Department, Tarkington and West Liberty County VFDS. There were no injuries.

05/11/2026

Engine 42, Ladder 42, and 438 responded to the report of smoke from a residence on Hull St. Upon our arrival there was smoke visible from a one story residential structure. A room and content fire was located in a bedroom and was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries.
