Don’t miss tomorrow’s walk!
Transportation is about so much more than getting from one place to another. It’s about staying connected to the people, services, and activities that help us thrive.
STC and Executive Director Laura Kleinman were featured in a recent Cleveland Jewish News article highlighting the critical role transportation plays in helping older adults maintain their independence, access healthcare, and remain engaged in their communities. As our population ages, reliable transportation will continue to be an essential part of healthy aging and reducing social isolation.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and was designated by the government as a federal holiday in 2021. June 19, 1865 was the date Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, bringing news that the Civil War had ended and all enslaved people were now free—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Today on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we stand with older adults and the communities that support them. Every older adult deserves to age with dignity, respect, and the freedom to live safely and independently. Abuse, neglect, and exploitation can often go unnoticed, making awareness and advocacy more important than ever.
At Senior Transportation Connection, we know that reliable transportation does more than get someone from one place to another—it helps older adults access healthcare, stay engaged in their communities, maintain their independence, and remain connected to trusted people and resources.
If you suspect elder abuse, don’t ignore the signs. Speaking up could make all the difference. Suspected abuse can be reported to Cuyahoga County Division of Senior and Adult Services at 216-420-6700. Their Adult Protective Services hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
