VOCA Funding Update

Beginning in October 2026, funding for the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) program is expected to be significantly reduced. VOCA funding supports services that help victims of crime and their families with recovery, advocacy, and other essential needs.

Cleveland Missing relies on the limited VOCA funding we receive to continue providing support and services to families of missing people, as well as to missing individuals.

The future of this funding will have a direct impact on organizations and families who depend on these resources. We encourage you to reach out to your U.S. representatives and senators in Washington, D.C., and let them know how important VOCA funding is to victims, families, and organizations providing these critical services.

We encourage our community to learn more about the changes to VOCA funding and how they may affect victim-services organizations and the people they serve.

Note: VOCA funding is supported primarily through federal criminal fines and penalties, including those associated with certain federal white-collar crimes, rather than ordinary taxpayer appropriations.
