We want to take a moment to honor the life of our mentor and friend, Mike Riddle, a man who impacted us profoundly through his dedication to equipping believers.

Mike, formerly with Answers in Genesis, was the founder and president of The Creation Training Initiative, Inc.

Mike’s vision was to train people in churches across the country to confidently answer the questions many have about Genesis 1–11. Fifteen years ago, we had the privilege of being part of his very first Teachers College.

We had spoken with Mike and his wife Lesley just a few weeks ago. While we were in Paris, she called us to share that Mike’s health had taken a turn for the worse. He went to be with the Lord on July 31st.

While we do grieve, we do not mourn as those who have no hope. We rejoice in his legacy and are honored to be part of the lasting impact he leaves behind. We know that Mike has heard those beautiful words: “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with Lesley and their family.

As I turned a can of tomato sauce into pizza sauce for dinner last night, I was struck again by how much intentionality goes into even the simplest meal.

Genesis shows us a God who works with perfect intention — forming, filling, shaping, and declaring His creation “very good.” Nothing random. Nothing accidental.

If a homemade pizza requires a maker, how much more the heavens and the earth?
