As nationwide efforts to end Flock contracts accelerate, Cleveland City Council is choosing to prioritize criminalization over community safety. Abortion advocates know that when new strategies for surveillance are accepted as the "norm," abortion seekers suffer.

From July 2024 to June 2025, Preterm served patients from 52 of Ohio's 88 counties, as well as patients from 18 states outside of Ohio. Working alongside Abortion Fund of Ohio and Ohio Women's Alliance, we strive to ensure travel is never a barrier to abortion care. ALPR technology is a waste of resources, violates privacy, and makes seeking abortion care that much more difficult.

State surveillance is not care; it's coercion.

Regardless of the outcome of the vote tomorrow, this issue isn’t going away. Clevelanders are becoming more and more aware of the many ways in which our personal information is being used to enrich tech billionaires and increase government overreach with no improvements to our actual safety. A well-resourced community is a safer community.

Apply now to join the 2027 cohort of the Preterm Board of Directors! The application will remain open until August 31st. Our board works collaboratively as a team and with our Executive Director. We lead by centering our patients, frontline staff, and community in all of our decision-making.

We are seeking creative, strategic thinkers who will carry us through the legal realities and into the future that Preterm imagines in connecting people to care, and caring for our community appropriately. We are especially seeking abortion care patients, current and former abortion workers, and people who have familiarity with working with a union as applicants.

Preterm is searching for a Director of Nursing! The Director of Nursing provides oversight of nursing operations and clinical leadership for Preterm’s medical services and staff. They will participate in strategic visioning as part of Preterm’s senior leadership team and ensure delivery of high quality, compassionate, patient-centered and whole person healthcare.
