Clinton Performance Machine

In the past week we’ve had an abundance of cylinder heads through the shop. Most of them were here for complete rebuilds. That meant everything from pressure testing, replacing seats, valve guides, valves, valve springs, valve jobs, resurfacing and more. A total of 19 cylinder heads in just over a week. Everything from Gen 3 Coyotes, GT 350, 4 Valve Modulars, LS, Gen V LT, Honda F20 and K24, and Kia/Hyundai. Id like to give a big THANK YOU to Mike And Kenny here in the shop for making quick and accurate work of all the cylinders heads. Just a few pictures of the cylinder head work from the past week below.

Three short blocks we finished up last week.

1. 406 cubic inch LS in an iron block. Crank cans rods from K1 and pistons from CP. This will be finished out as long block in the near future and then it’s headed into a supercharged Corvette.

2. 352 cubic inch 8.2 deck SBF built in a Summit/BPE aftermarket block. LPC forged crank and rods, and Mahle PowerPak pistons. This is going in a Fox Mustang drift car.

3. 467 cubic inch tall deck BBC. A customer brought this in for a rebuild and we reused the Eagle crank and rods and provided a new set of Mahle PowerPak forged pistons.

Fresh set of 03 Cobra heads with new exhaust guides, new exhaust seats, Ferrea Valves and the 4 thread stock spark plug threads updated with aluminum thread inserts.

This is a really interesting engine in for a rebuild and restoration. A Holman Moody built 427 Top Oiler Ford FE marine engine. It came in with the original Holman Moody marine exhaust manifolds and dual plane intake manifold. There’s very limited information about these marine engines. If anyone out there has information we’d love to hear what you know. We hope to have it disassembled soon and come up with a plan to bring it back to life.

This is a great example of an awesome upgrade to a stock 5.3. The block has been align honed with new main fasteners, bored and honed to 5.7 LS bore size (3.898”), square decked, crankshaft reground and balanced. Even at .118” over the cylinder walls still showed nearly .250” thick in the thinnest areas. The short block has new GM Gen 4 connecting rods, King rod and main bearings, and Silv-O-lite pistons.

Nice set of Pro Topline SBC cast iron heads in for inspection. Customer requested the guides be checked and get a valve job.

Our first look at the new BTR canted valve CNC ported LS cylinder heads. We haven’t ironed out all the details but these are for an upcoming customer build.

N18 Mini Cooper block in for boring, honing, decking and fitting piston rings. The customer supplied a set of forged Supertech pistons and Total Seal piston rings.
