Anyone who witnessed the attacks of 9/11 remembers exactly where they were. The shock. The pain. The anger. The heartbreak. For a moment, it felt like the entire world wept together.
We lost thousands of innocent lives that day, but we also witnessed extraordinary courage. Firefighters, police officers, first responders, and everyday Americans ran toward danger to save people they had never met. Their bravery became an example for an entire generation.
What followed was something no one could ever forget. Our nation came together. Flags were everywhere. Communities stood together. Our allies stood beside us. We were united by grief, but also by resolve.
To everyone we lost on September 11th, the 343 fire fighters who never came home, to those we lost in the wars that followed, and to every family who has carried that absence ever since, your sacrifice has not been forgotten.
25 years feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago.
We have not forgotten.
We will never forget..

Over the last few weeks, FCFD has been actively conducting a Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC). Between the classroom portion and the practical driving time on the course, students learn how to properly inspect an emergency apparatus before use, operate safely and become confident with the operation of each apparatus on a closed course.
Congratulations to all the participants who will now move on to the next part of their training!
