The University of Tennessee, Knoxville regularly partner with initiatives like the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation's "Extra Yard for Teachers" program to recognize outstanding educators on the field during home football games at Neyland Stadium.During these multi-tiered appreciation events, UT commonly honors top-tier state educators, including the Tennessee Teacher of the Year and regional Grand Division winners. For the 2025–26 cycle, the primary educator recognized across statewide events was Dr. Brandi De La Cruz, a mathematics instructor from Collierville High School.

Dr. De La Cruz is pictured with one of her former pre-calculus students, Joakim Dodson, who now plays football at the University of Tennessee.

Your Collierville High School Varsity Volleyball Team swept Arlington tonight in 3 sets earning them the title of regular season district champions! CHS will now host the district tournament the week of October 5th. Congratulations and Go Dragons!

We’re proud to introduce Lt. Col. Ashley Williams, who is working with our inaugural group of students enrolled in the Air Force JROTC program at Collierville High School. Lt. Col. Williams is helping launch this exciting new opportunity for our students as they develop leadership skills, discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of service.

CHS would like to congratulate our students who received awards at the Delta Fair art competition this year.

Don’t forget that tomorrow, September 23rd, is picture day for all CHS students in 9th-11th grade. And while you’re at it, you can also order a copy of the yearbook so one day you can look back on your picture from “back in the day” like these two.

Yearbooks are currently $85, but will increase to $95 after the first of the year. Order your copy at yearbookordercenter, com with school code 25261.

It’s HOCO time! This year’s Homecoming Dance will be from 7:00PM-10:00PM, October 3rd, in the CHS MTM Gym. All students must have an ID to enter.

Tickets are on sale now during all lunches. Tickets may be purchased for $25 using cash, check, or School Cash online. There will be an additional $2 fee to pay online. If using School Cash online, students will need to stop by the ticket table and let the SGA members know who paid online so those tickets may be assigned to them. You can access online payment at https://colliervilletn.schoolcashonline.com/.

Students bringing an outside guest must complete a guest form. Guests must be approved prior to purchasing tickets. Guest forms can be found at the sales table during all lunches, outside room A233, or in the Counseling Office. Completed forms are due by 2:30PM on Tuesday, September 29th. Forms can be turned into Room A233 or in the Counseling Office. Late forms will NOT be accepted. This includes if you are absent for illness, out for a field trip, school sporting event, etc.

Your CHS boys and girls varsity golf teams won their district championship earlier this week and are now headed to the Regional match next week! Congratulations to this amazing group of student athletes and their sponsors and coaches on this achievement. Go Dragons!
