The Midway Fire Department is currently keeping a close eye on the sky. We are hearing that we could be expecting a storm to move in with a good amount of lightning tonight. Just a quick reminder that for any emergency needs from us (basement pump out, house struck by lightning, fire, etc.) please call 9-1-1 so our entire department can properly be dispatched. Do not call the firehouse. We are a volunteer agency, so we cannot answer the phone 24/7. We are thankful for our Town of Colonie Dispatchers for their help with that. As for this evening we are ready to respond!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Albany Fire Department. Yesterday afternoon an Albany FD Batallion Chief and a DGS employee were badly injured due to an explosion. We wish everyone a speedy recovery. 🙏

The last few days have been busy for our department. We are still responding to calls for water emergencies right now. We want to assure everyone in our district that with more water in the forecast our department is ready to help you. Please call 9-1-1 directly if you need help with flooding. The dispatchers will then contact our members so we can be notified properly, and we can get to your home as quickly as possible.

At this time our department has responded to multiple flooded basements in the Midway Fire District. One of members reported seeing a fire hydrant completely submerged. This weather is crazy!🤪
