People will lead. How they lead makes all the difference. DAI equips the servant leader in each of us. The world needs strong Christian leaders.

In our broken world, God plants local Christian leaders to bring the lasting hope of the gospel to their communities. These leaders face enormous challenges — like corruption, disease, persecution, poverty, war — and most find themselves ill-equipped to respond. Development Associates International (DAI) equips these leaders to respond by creating, using and distributing interactive educational tools that grow leaders' personal integrity, spiritual life, leadership effectiveness and management skills.

Flashback to July, when 87 leaders met in Abuja, Nigeria, for their next DAI master's residency.

29 of those men and women were there for the very first time, and began their MAOL (Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership) journey with a matriculation ceremony.

Though these leaders represent a wide array of fields, backgrounds, and experiences, all of them are united by a common desire to develop their leadership. We pray that God will meet them during their studies over the next three years, helping them grow in skill, wisdom, and servant-heartedness.

For the second year in a row, the Union of Native Evangelical Leaders of the Peruvian Amazon has invited DAI Peru to present on servant leadership during its annual youth leadership camp.

This is a tremendous opportunity to invest in the next generation of Peru's indigenous leaders, and we are grateful to be able to contribute to these young people's formation! Now and in the future, may they serve their communities with skillful hands and servant hearts.

DAI Bangladesh has just launched a Leadership Forum, a space where young people gather weekly to grow spiritually, learn and practice leadership skills, and develop community with like-minded peers.

The DAI Bangladesh team explains,

"Long-term transformation needs ongoing practice, encouragement, and accountability. While training programs are very helpful, an ongoing forum can help young people keep practicing leadership in a consistent way and gradually experience deeper transformation.

We hope this forum can grow into a leadership movement where young people develop servant leadership and make a lasting impact in churches, organizations, and society."

DAI Haiti continues to serve local leaders in the thick of their country's struggles with violent gang conflict.

In the aftermath of the recent Kenscoff massacre, in which gangs brutally killed 47 and kidnapped over 50 others, DAI Haiti quickly organized a three-day Trauma Healing course for impacted pastors.

Though nothing can completely take away the horror of what they've experienced, being able to process their trauma in community—guided by wise and experienced facilitators—has allowed these leaders to begin the journey toward healing and wholeness. And, it is equipping them to guide those they serve along the same path.

Please continue to pray that God would restore peace and stability to Haiti.

The success of a teacher is measured not in how well they teach, but in how well their students learn.

And since part of the job of any leader is to help others learn, grow, and develop, one of DAI's core classes is Teaching and Learning for Impact.

Effective adult education is interactive, engaging, and inspires others to pass on what they've learned.

Pictured here is a Teaching and Learning for Impact course facilitated in Egypt this summer by DAI Middle East and North Africa Regional Director Ehab Tharwat.

This program is currently available in 17 countries and reaches over 1,000 students each year.

We're excited that DAI's Growing Marriage course has reached a new country — Myanmar!

Growing Marriage is designed to strengthen the foundation of global leaders’ marriages, leading to transformed homes and personal lives. This health then overflows into the churches and organizations they lead, as they model and pass on what they've learned.

This summer, DAI Philippines Director Mark James Ferrariz and his wife, Mary, traveled to Myanmar to facilitate the first part of Growing Marriage for a cohort of Burmese leaders. These leaders traveled in from different regions of Myanmar specifically for the course, and left energized and deeply impacted by what they learned.

We are honored to partner with a number of local Nepali leaders delivering critical aid to the area devastated by the flash flood on August 26th.

Over the past week, one of our key partners—a Nepali Christian relief organization—was able to provide food, cooking utensils, clothing, water filters, beds, and blankets to nearly 800 families, according to their need. This was made possible through the generosity of many of you, together with other financial partners.

We're so grateful for your generous hearts, which are helping families survive the next couple of months and begin to rebuild their lives physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The ongoing needs are still enormous, and we are happy to accept your ongoing support at

Why would you choose to commit three years to intentionally develop your leadership?

Each of these DAI master's students from Uganda has a personal answer to this question.

It relates to their background, past experience, and, perhaps most of all, to a call they've received from God to serve and enact positive change in their area of influence.

Our future depends on the skill, integrity, and servant-heartedness of leaders like these. We applaud your commitment!
