From groundbreaking to ribbon-cutting, LCK is proud to have played a key role in bringing Georgetown’s new Clarence C. Smalls City Hall to life.

Today, we joined the City of Georgetown and project partners to celebrate the completion of this transformative renovation in the city’s West End.

As project manager, LCK helped oversee the redevelopment of the former Liberty Steel headquarters into a modern 12,000-square-foot City Hall and 3,000-square-foot Council Chambers. Working closely with Chief City Engineer Orlando Arteaga and the City of Georgetown team, our team coordinated project partners, kept construction on schedule and helped navigate the complexities of two major municipal projects from vision to completion.

We’re proud to have been part of this important investment in the Georgetown community and excited to see the finished project officially open its doors.

South Carolina’s construction market remains strong, with nearly $12.4 billion in construction starts through mid-year 2026.

But as demand continues, labor availability, contractor capacity and rising material costs are putting greater pressure on project budgets and schedules. Early planning and proactive project management are becoming increasingly critical to successful project delivery.

There’s something special about walking a project while it’s under construction and seeing the future take shape floor by floor.

Our team participated in a media hard-hat tour showcasing progress on Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Unions new downtown development at the corner of Sumter and Lady streets. Construction began in late 2025, and the five-story, 100,000+ SF headquarters is anticipated to be completed in early 2027.

We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside outstanding project partners M. B. Kahn and Quackenbush Architects + Planners. A special thanks to David Detwiler for leading LCK’s on-site project management efforts and to Christopher Hock for supporting the team today.

We are also excited to see the future activation of the ground-floor restaurant space, which is being leased by Rox Pollard, Jr., John Gressette, Rox Pollard III and Danny Bonds with Colliers International | South Carolina.

This project represents more than a new headquarters; it’s an investment in the continued growth and vibrancy of downtown Columbia for generations to come.
