Our hearts are with the family of Columbia Police Officer Christopher DeLong Jr., his fellow officers, and the entire Columbia Police Department following his death in the line of duty. We are also keeping Officer David Dymock and his family in our thoughts as he recovers from injuries sustained while responding as backup during the incident.

As Officer Dymock recovers, his injuries may also prevent him from working the extra-duty assignments that many law enforcement officers rely on to supplement their regular income, making community support especially meaningful during this time.

Officer DeLong leaves behind a wife and two young children. In the days ahead, we hope our community will surround both families with care and support.

In partnership with the Columbia Police Department, Serve & Connect has established the Officer Chris DeLong Memorial Fund and Officer David Dymock Recovery Fund through its official Tragedy Response Program. Donations will directly support the officers’ families during this incredibly difficult time.

We encourage our BRBR community to stand with the CPD family by donating or sharing these fundraisers. Donate through Serve & Connect’s Tragedy Response Program: https://serveandconnect.org/tragedy-response-program/
