Thank you donors! A new record! Veteran Companion Animal Services will put your money to good use!

We Rescue Dogs to Rescue Veterans
The mission of VCAS, a 501(c)3 public charity, is to enrich the lives of veterans, military families, and dogs through the many benefits of the human-animal bond.

Veteran Companion Animal Services (VCAS) is dedicated to improving the lives of both rescue animals and veterans in need. We believe that the bond between animals and humans can be incredibly therapeutic, and we work to place rescue animals with veterans who can benefit from their companionship and the human-animal bond.

By providing structure, companionship, and unconditional love, these animals can help veterans dealing with physical or mental health issues, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and social Isolation. The veteran also provides a stable forever home for their new companion. Our goal is to make a positive impact on both the animals and the veterans’ lives, creating a win-win situation for all involved.

"VCAS works to achieve this through four main programs: Rescue Dog Placements, where dogs provide unconditional love and a return to structure for veterans; Frontline Dog Training Programs, offered at no cost to veterans and military families who currently own a dog, which fosters connections with peers and volunteers; Veteran Community Outings, which ensure continued support and lasting friendships within the VCAS family; and the Ambassador Program, in which veterans are certified as therapy dog teams. This program empowers veterans to share the love and joy of their dogs with others, giving them a deeper sense of purpose and connection through their partnership."

Josh Doran, President and CEO of VCAS
