Instead of walking across a stage with his classmates, Dony spent part of his high school graduation day at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta receiving treatment.
Just weeks before graduation, he was admitted to the hospital with a severe headache and pain in his left eye.
Doctors diagnosed him with optic neuritis, and one of his treatments happened to fall on graduation day 💔
But the amazing team at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta wasn’t going to let him miss out.
The staff organized a graduation celebration inside the hospital, complete with a cap and gown and a crowd of doctors, nurses, and caregivers cheering him on as he marked the moment he’d worked so hard for.
So incredibly kind!
Congratulations, Dony!!
So many people are proud of you, and this community is cheering you on right alongside your care team ❤️
