EAA Chapter 9

Come join us for one or more of our events this month.

Check out eaa9.org for more details.

Join us at our VMC club meeting Thursday evening. We'll be hearing from Johnny Ginley.

After a week at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018, Johnny and Ally climbed into their Ercoupe and headed home, expecting a routine, peaceful flight. That peace was short-lived. While flying over downtown Chicago, the airplane suffered an engine failure, turning an ordinary day-VFR flight into an experience they would never forget. This firsthand account details what happened next, the decisions, challenges, and lessons from an unexpected emergency that became a life-changing day.

EAA9 Gathering - September 17 - https://mailchi.mp/c7d2a64161c6/eaa9-gathering-august-aircraft-ownership-maintenance-6752089

Today’s Young Eagles event has been cancelled due to weather ⛈️ join us for one of the next upcoming chapter events!

If you aren’t in our Pumble chats, please take a moment to catch up on the discussion about the future of Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland. As you probably know, there has been a renewed push to close the airport and develop the land for other purposes. The latest news has been encouraging, but our support is still needed.

One way to show that support is by visiting the airport-- by participating in our last Chapter Flyout of 2026 coming up on Saturday, Oct 10. We'll be visiting the International Women's Air and Space Museum (based at the airport) and going out to lunch nearby. As with all of our flyouts, you can signup as a pilot flying your own or a rented aircraft OR sign up as a passenger and we'll do our best to find a seat for you in someone else's airplane.

I'm excited to see a great turnout for Chapter 9 at this event. Hope you can make it. Comment below with any questions.

Rick Hunt just posted another animal rescure flight video.

On this trip Rick had the privilege of transporting three lab puppies to Columbus for "Canine Companions".

Originating in California, this whole pack of pups travelled a long distance, and are now someone's special helper.
