MEET NICOLETTE!

Nicolette is a 2-year-old sweetheart with a calm, gentle personality and the kind of happy smile that makes it pretty difficult not to fall in love with her.

She already knows “sit,” walks beautifully on leash, and is a BIG fan of frozen treats. Give this girl a tasty snack and some quality time with her people, and she’s pretty content.

Nicolette has also spent time with another dog and showed us that she may be more of a “we can hang out together, but please respect my personal space” kind of girl. She clearly communicates when she’s uncomfortable, and with a dog who respected those boundaries, the two were even able to play together!

As always, we’d recommend a meet-and-greet with any potential canine siblings to make sure everyone is comfortable.

Come meet Nicolette at Paws Humane Society!

MEET ZACHARY!

Those blue eyes might get your attention, but Zachary’s personality is what’s going to win you over. 💙

Zachary is a playful, energetic, people-loving guy who is ready to find a family of his own. He already knows “sit,” loves to play, and is the perfect size for equal parts adventures and cuddles.

And when it comes to other dogs? Zachary has been showing us that he has some pretty great social skills!

He’s met several different dogs during playgroups and has done a wonderful job adjusting to their individual personalities. He can come into a first meeting a little excited, but once he settles in, he reads other dogs well, respects corrections and boundaries, and is easy to redirect when another dog needs some space.
He’s even been able to encourage a more hesitant dog to play with gentle, respectful invitations—and backed off when she told him she’d had enough. ❤️

In fact, Zachary has done so well that he’s been a great helper for our team when meeting and evaluating other dogs!

Now this handsome, blue-eyed boy just needs one more introduction to make:
His future family. 🥹

Come meet Zachary at Paws Humane Society and see if he’s the one you’ve been waiting for!

MEET GEMMA LOU!

Gemma Lou has one request for her future family: she wants to be your one and only. 💕

This sweet girl has spent time in a foster home, which has given us the chance to see just how wonderful she can be outside of the shelter.

Gemma Lou LOVES people and has done especially well with children. She has spent time around five kids ages 8 and under and did great with them! She’s also friendly with visitors and strangers and is happiest when she gets to be part of whatever her people are doing.

She’s an energetic girl who loves to play, especially with squeaky toys and ropes. She enjoys getting out and about, does great in the car, and walks pretty well on leash—though excitement can occasionally get the better of her!

She has also done well free-roaming when left home alone.

The most important thing to know about Gemma Lou is that she needs to be the ONLY pet in her home. She is not comfortable sharing her space with other animals, so we're looking for a family without other dogs or cats where she can relax, thrive, and soak up all the love for herself.

And honestly? She has more than enough personality to fill the whole house.

If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, people-loving dog who is great with kids and you're ready for a one-pet household, Gemma Lou might be exactly who you've been waiting for.

One pet. One best friend. A whole lot of love. 🐾

HERE’S WHAT LAST WEEK LOOKED LIKE AT PAWS.

Another busy week. Another 77 stray animals coming through our doors.

That’s 29 dogs and 48 cats who entered our care as strays in just seven days.

But there were plenty of wins to celebrate, too.
39 animals were adopted.
14 pets were reunited with their families.
27 animals left for rescue partners.
54 animals found foster homes.
And our clinic completed an incredible 170 spay/neuter surgeries.

Every number represents an animal—and behind every positive outcome is someone who helped make it happen.

The need continues to be great, but so does the impact we can make when our community shows up.

MEET WILLIAM SONOMA!

William Sonoma has been spending some time in foster, and apparently this boy has decided his full-time job is being attached to his people.

His foster describes him as affectionate, goofy, a little sassy, and VERY clingy. He wants scratches. He wants kisses. He wants your attention. And yes, he will absolutely talk back to you when he has something to say. 😂

But underneath all that personality is a seriously good boy.

In just TWO DAYS in his foster home, William learned the household routine and became comfortable in his crate with no accidents. He can sleep crated through the night, is potty trained, and has even done well free-roaming in the home. His foster has cameras and says he respects the boundaries they've given him—even knowing that upstairs is off limits!

And toys? Give him ALL OF THEM.

William isn't picky, but a good rope toy might be his favorite. He loves tug-of-war and is working on fetch. He'll chase the toy, grab it, and occasionally remember that the whole point is to bring it back. Sometimes he's just too excited about his prize. 😂

William also LOVES other dogs and really enjoys having canine friends to play and spend time with. He's lived with a cat in his foster home and has done very well, too. He does great meeting new people and has been comfortable around children he's encountered while out and about.

William Sonoma has already shown us that he knows how to be somebody's dog.
He's affectionate, social, smart, silly, and ready to bring a whole lot of personality into someone's home.

Now he just needs somebody to choose him. 💙
