Week 4: 📸 Throwback Thursday Part 2
We’re in Week 4 of our 📸 Throwback Thursday Campaign, working toward our $20,000 goal to keep At Home by High operating full-time through December. We are almost half-way there!
💙 Current offline donations: $9,824.96
💙 Current online donations: $102.53
This week’s throwback is all about our oldest member - John. He turned 92 years old in June. One of the first members to take a shot by signing up way back in 2018.
I know more about John than most of my friends and family. We’ve seen a lot of each other over the years. He’s shared his love of physics (yes, he has a degree in it, too), history, Edgar Allan Poe (he memorized The Raven in full and it is always breath-taking to hear him recite it although he has forgotten a bit over the years), and all genres of music.
He’s done so much with us over the years - we needed two videos to do him justice. How this man wasn’t on the radio or tv with that voice is beyond me.
If At Home by High has made a difference in your life—or in the life of someone you love—please consider making a gift today. Share your favorite memory in the comments or help us spread the word by sharing this post.
❤️ Every dollar helps us continue serving older adults in our community.

Week 3: 📸 Throwback Thursday
We’re in Week 3 of our 📸 Throwback Thursday Campaign, working toward our $20,000 goal to keep At Home by High operating full-time through December.

This week’s throwback is especially close to my heart.
During the pandemic, our members needed more than a safe place to live—they needed fresh air, movement, purpose, and connection. Many had spent years tending farms and backyard gardens, but apartment living had taken that joy away.
Together with incredible community partners, we changed that.
Thanks to support from homeport_oh , The Columbus Foundation ScottsMiracle-Gro Godman Guild Association CPO Impact we built community gardens where neighbors could grow vegetables, flowers, friendships, and hope.
Today, those gardens are entering their 6th growing season. What started as a response to isolation has become a lasting source of beauty, health, and community.
This is what At Home by High does. We create opportunities that help older adults stay active, connected, and thriving.

Our 📸 Throwback Thursday Campaign continues into week two to reach our $20,000 goal to keep full-time operations until December.
Current off-line donations total $3,500!
Every Thursday we’ll share a piece of our history. This week’s reel showcases some of the laughter and silliness we have shared over the years - our trip to Ohio Stadium, the Bronzeville farmers’ market, Halloween happy hour North Market , skipping around the Columbus Convention Center, and other fun times.
We hope you’ll help ensure there are more memories still to come like our trip yesterday to Three Creeks Metro Park. (Check out yesterday’s post😉)
If At Home by High has touched your life—or someone you love’s—please consider making a gift today, sharing your own story below, or helping us spread the word. Every donation helps us continue serving older adults in our community.

Sunshine, fresh air, good food, and great company. ☀️🎣 🥪 🚶🏾♀️
Today was Sharon’s first attempt at fishing. Thankfully we have some experts in our group to ensure she got off to a good start.
Today our members enjoyed everything Three Creeks Metro Park has to offer—fishing, picnicking, walking the trails, sharing stories, and simply soaking up a beautiful summer day. These moments of connection, laughter, and community are what At Home by High is all about. 💙
Tomorrow, we’re taking a walk down memory lane! We’ll be sharing memories from years past for a special Throwback Thursday fundraiser to help us continue creating meaningful experiences like today’s.
We hope you’ll join us tomorrow, celebrate our journey, and help ensure there are many more memories to make this year.💙
Thank you to Friends of Metro Parks for our grant this year to explore more parks with our friends.

📸 Throwback Thursday
Our final virtual fundraising campaign. Looking back at how we began and what we’ve accomplished.
At Home by High has been a place of friendship, belonging, and hope. Every Thursday we’ll share a piece of our history. We hope you’ll help ensure there are more memories still to come. Help us raise $20,000 to keep operations full-time through December.
In this photo from 2008, our members gathered for one of our holiday celebrations. Friendships were formed, confidence grew, and lives were changed.
These moments are why At Home by High exists.
Today, we’re facing one of the greatest challenges in our history. Funding reductions mean we’re working hard to keep our doors open and maintain full-time services through the end of the year.
If At Home by High has touched your life—or someone you love’s—please consider making a gift today. Every donation helps us continue serving adults with mental illness and developmental disabilities in our community.
❤️ Donate today. Share our story.
