Chef Chuck and Chef John are back on patrol, keeping a very close eye on what makes it to the plate at EPIC Restaurant.

One chef is inspecting the evidence.

And somehow… an entire pan of Brussels sprouts has become a situation. 😂

We took a real photo from the EPIC kitchen and gave it a little cartoon treatment… and somehow it captured the personalities perfectly.

Behind every beautiful plate that leaves our kitchen is a team working side by side …cooking, communicating, problem-solving, laughing, and occasionally making faces like these. 👨‍🍳🔥👨‍🍳

The kitchen isn’t always glamorous. It’s hot. It’s loud. It’s demanding. But when you have the right people beside you, it’s also one hell of a good time.

There are very few things that will make a chef happier than being properly set for service.

Every ingredient precisely placed. Every tool within reach. Every detail considered before service begins.

In a kitchen, precision starts long before the first plate is fired.

Proper mise en place isn’t just preparation it’s the foundation of excellence.

It starts at home. ❤️
This is our daughter Katie at four years old standing on a chair in our catering kitchen, (in our basement) mixing together spices, ingredients, and a few things that had absolutely no business being together. 😂
Did it taste good? Absolutely not.
But that wasn’t the point.
The point was letting her create. Letting her touch, smell, mix, taste, ask questions, make a mess, and discover that food can be fun.

Now she’s 22, and looking back at photos like this reminds us that a love and appreciation for food often begins long before someone understands technique, recipes, or fine dining. It begins with being welcomed into the kitchen.
We’ve always believed that getting children interested in cooking starts at home. Give them a spoon. Let them mix the spices. Let them help with dinner. Let them make something terrible. Let them be curious.
Because the kitchen is so much more than the place where meals are made.
It’s where conversations happen.
It’s where traditions are passed down.
It’s where creativity begins.
It’s where memories are made.
Food has a beautiful way of bringing people together and after the heart, we think the next best place in any home is the kitchen.

Teach them young. Let them create. Let them make a mess.
You never know what kind of love you may be stirring up.

It’s the middle of the week. You deserve this.

He took our daughter to prom… but he married his soulmate! And we had the honor of catering their wedding.
There is something so special about watching the children you’ve known since kindergarten grow into the brides and grooms standing before you today. From school days and prom pictures to graduations, college, and “I do”…what a privilege it is to witness those chapters.
Then, to have them trust us with one of the most meaningful days of their lives? That is a feeling we will never take for granted.

For us, it’s more than preparing a beautiful meal. It’s looking across the room at familiar faces, remembering just how little they once were, and pouring our hearts into a celebration they’ll remember forever.

To all the future brides and grooms: we would love to help make your day extraordinary with thoughtful hospitality, exceptional food, and the care we would give our own family.

We love what we do, and we do it well. But sharing in moments like these? That’s the very best part. 🥂
