Team Ohio celebrated a new chapter for downtown Cambridge yesterday with the grand opening of the Midtown Market.

What was once a shuttered car dealership is now a local gathering place, bringing food vendors, a business cooperative, office space, and indoor recreation — a bustling new hub of entrepreneurship and neighborhood activity.

Supported by a $450,000 JobsOhio Vibrant Communities grant, the Midtown Market shows what’s possible when a community rallies around a shared vision for its downtown, driving investment and creating opportunities for Ohio’s smaller communities and those who live in them.

Runways are infrastructure. They're also readiness.

The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport is resurfacing both of its runways, improving drainage, and installing new airfield lighting — more than $22 million in infrastructure investment. JobsOhio is supporting the work with a $1.71 million grant through the Aerospace and Defense Opportunity Program.

The centerline lighting, paired with the resurfacing of runway 14/32, ensures safe operations at night and in low visibility, to the standards modern aircraft require. That matters for the U.S. Air Force Reserve’s 910th Airlift Wing at the adjacent Youngstown Air Reserve Station, and it matters for every operator that depends on YNG being open and reliable.

Lake to River Economic Development championed this project to JobsOhio on the Port Authority's behalf. That's what a regional partner does — connect a community's priority directly to the resources that move it forward.

The airport and the air base are strategic assets for Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties. This investment protects both.

Today, the nation’s space leaders came together in Cleveland for the Ohio Space Forum, part of Ohio Space Week. Federal, military, industry, and academic leaders addressed scaling new technologies, advances in health care for space exploration, site strategies, lunar energy, and the workforce behind emerging nuclear space technologies.

They are meeting here for a reason. Before Artemis II flew around the Moon this spring, the Orion spacecraft was proven at NASA’s Neil Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, the only place in the world where it could face the temperatures, vacuum, and electromagnetic conditions of deep space in one location. In Cleveland, NASA Glenn Research Center integrates the European Service Module that powers and propels Orion. Behind them stand Ohio’s 640+ aerospace firms and the workforce that designs, builds, and tests what comes next.

Former NASA astronaut Suni Williams, who spent 608 days in orbit and twice commanded the International Space Station, explains why that work matters.

From research to orbit, Ohio accelerates what's next in deep space exploration.

Team Ohio was in Cleveland this week for the 2026 Site Selectors Guild Fall Forum to connect with the economic developers, location strategy experts, and business leaders who shape how companies across the country make site decisions.

The Site Selectors Guild’s mission is simple: strengthen the collaborative relationships among all involved parties so that companies can find the right fit, faster. At JobsOhio, we know these partnerships are incredibly important because the more site selectors know about Ohio, the more we can help meet their clients’ needs.

The Fall Forum was a great opportunity to share Ohio’s advantages. As the #1 state for doing business, Ohio helps companies balance speed, risk, and cost when they’re considering where to move or expand. With 5,000+ available sites, our best-in-class SiteOhio authentication process, and a private, nonprofit structure built for companies to grow with fewer roadblocks and less red tape, we help businesses cut through the guesswork and find not just a ready site, but the right one.

Development is hard. We make it easier.

Valvoline Global Operations — the 160-year-old company behind America’s first branded motor oil — is establishing its new global headquarters in downtown Cincinnati.

The company plans a complete revitalization of the 50,000-square-foot space it will occupy downtown, designed for up to 120 employees, with the new headquarters expected to open in spring 2027. The move places Valvoline Global’s executive leadership and global functions minutes from its largest production facility. Its Lexington location will remain a key part of the company’s footprint as the central hub for the Americas region.

One of the fastest-growing lubricant brands in the world, Valvoline Global has grown its employee base by nearly 20% in the past three years and evaluated multiple locations before choosing Cincinnati. The region’s $10.6 billion chemicals and materials manufacturing base, its talent pipeline, and its innovation network gave a company the room and the connectivity to keep growing.

When a global brand that sells its products in more than 140 countries decides where to establish its headquarters, it decides where its future gets made — and Valvoline Global chose Ohio.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. is expanding its Ohio presence with a planned 22,000-square-foot innovation hub in the Dayton region to develop the hardware, software, and autonomy behind next-generation U.S. Air Force programs. More than seven times its current Ohio footprint, the company will create 50 full-time jobs to start, hiring primarily from the local community. Doors open in spring 2027.

Why here? Look at what's across the street. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, and the Air Force Research Laboratory — the customer, the program offices and the research enterprise, all within minutes. Add 640+ aerospace facilities and 400 defense contractor organizations supporting 418,000 Ohio jobs, and the distance from concept to capability gets very short.

Aerospace and defense work goes from concept to reality with great speed in an ecosystem like Ohio’s.

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation changed forever.

We join the nation in remembering the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and in honoring the families who have carried that loss for a quarter of a century.

It's official: Beehive Industries is on its way to scaling production of its 3D-printed jet engines.

Last week, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved the project, clearing the way for work to begin. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Beehive Industries, and REDI Cincinnati announced at the Farnborough International Airshow that Beehive would expand in Southwest Ohio, creating more than 200 new jobs and investing $70 million.

Beehive is changing the math on American defense production, using additive manufacturing and a fully integrated U.S. supply chain to collapse engine development timelines that have historically run for years. That's exactly the kind of work Southwest Ohio was built for — a $6 billion regional aerospace industry, a deep advanced manufacturing workforce, and proximity to the customers and testing assets that matter.
